{{Infobox location|title = The Kingdom of Mirr|type = Island Country|location = Off the Coast of Osugbo|Government = Monarchy|inhabiting Race = Dragonborn, Humans, Misc. Others}}'''Mirr''', the home of the two dragonborn princes, [[Ben|Caliben and Svengette]], is an island kingdom, formerly ruled by the usurper king, [[Krislindahl]], now back in the hands of the royal dragonborn family.

== About ==
Mirr is an island kingdom off the coast of Osugbo. It has a volcanic mountain range to the northeast, known as the Ashen Coast. The volcanic soil makes this part of the country particularly fertile and much of it agricultural economy comes from this region.

Lush tropical beaches and forests to the west are a favorite vacation spot for visitors (Krislindahl has decreed the beaches closed until hostilities with Lucinda have ended; however, Krislindahl and his entourage frequently enjoy the beaches under heavy guard from his mercenary army).

There are rough patches to the southeast, ruined land from years of bad weather and warfare. As a result, this is the poorest region of the island and many have left it. It is also filled with the most criminal activity, with lots of residents doing what they can to make ends meet.

Mirr has been a war-torn land for many years, from the decades-long bloody civil war instigated by King Prax, to the current hostilities between current King Krislindahl and overthrown Lucinda.

== Reign of King Prax/Mirr Civil War/Uneasy Peace/Queen Lucinda/King Krislindahl/Ongoing Hostilities ==
''The sun shall never set on my domain!-'' King Prax of Mirr

Peace has eluded the kingdom of Mirr for many years. The Long Wars were begun when King Prax, growing up on a diet of tales of past kings and conquest, decided that his kingdom in the southwestern parts of the island was not enough. He gathered his troops and conquered the island of Mirr, piece by piece and talked of setting his sights on the other realms.

This Mirr Civil War lasted years and many lives were lost. King Prax was christened King Prax the Cruel, for his blood-thirst and lack of mercy on the battlefield.

The last piece of land, in the northeast, was the hardest and bloodiest battle and lasted weeks. The hostilities abruptly ended when King Prax saw an orphaned dragonborn child on the field named Gustafar. Something, a sense of morality, overcame the king and he decided that he would no longer by a conqueror but try to be a good king; exchange the sword for the olive branch.

This peace was uneasy; those who knelt before him did so with memories of the bloodshed he brought to Mirr. His second queen, [[Lucinda|Queen Lucinda,]] and her noble father Lord Alffus had come from a rich family who suffered much loss since the wars. Even as queen, Lucinda would eye the king with venomous contempt, but Lord Alffus had used her in order to regain wealth, prestige, and have the king’s ear.

Prax spent the remainder of his years at his castle and trying to make right for what he had done. He doted on Gustafar as well as the twin sons Queen Lucinda had borne him: Svengette and Caliben...it was almost an open secret that Sven and Ben were not legitimate; Prax was very old and unable to perform husbandry duties at this point and Lucinda was known to take lovers.

As Prax wasted away from age and sickness, Lord Alffus brought a new face to court: a dragonborn named Krislindahl, who quickly cozied up the queen...

On his deathbed, Prax told Lucinda that she would be Queen of Mirr for ten years and then hand over power to whichever of the three sons she deemed most worthy. Lucinda kept this royal decree to herself. She intended to yield power to Ben or Sven (she had no intention of giving anything to Gustafar), but only when she was ready to let it go. As fate would have it, she never had the chance, as a few years into her reign, she was usurped by Krislindahl when she went to visit her brother Slodder on a hunting trip.

Since then, the island kingdom has been at war: the factions of Lucinda against King Krislindahl, with only a brief respite during the Great Freeze. But now that the thaw has happened, the drums of war are afresh.

== Notable Places ==
-'''Krislindahl Castle''' (formerly Prax Castle): a large fortress where the royal family (and now Krislindahl) resided. This is also the site of the royal treasury, where more money trickles out than comes in.

-'''The Krislindahl Colossus:''' a large statue (estimated to stand at 90 feet after completion) being constructed on the fjord ports of Mirr, built on a former shrine of a dead god. So far, the statue has reached the crotch. As per Krislindahl’s instructions, lots of detail and effort have been focused on this area to make him appear more “admirable” to the people looking up at him. The focus on this area has resulted in inordinate time, effort, and money lost in the completion of the statue.

With his assistance in helping with Orbis, Krislindahl is hoping the gracious people of Quelmar will send vast sums of money to expedite completion of the statue and has sent Mirr dignitaries to the mainland to solicit for donations.

'''-Linqui Lake:''' the deepest lake in Mirr, said to be the site where the first king of Mirr lies; his tomb at the bottom of the lake. An alleged treasure trove that no one has been able to reach. Legend says that the skeletal ghostly form of the king can be seen hovering over the water at night, beckoning people to try and disturb his grave. Krislindahl plans to fund an expedition to retrieve the treasure once hostilities cease with Queen Lucinda.

== Notable Events ==

'''The Saurus Summit''': An event hosted by Krislindahl, where some of the finest warriors in Quelmar were summoned to address the on-going Orbis situation, which resulted in Krislindahl providing funding, weapons, and soldiers to the climatic battle.

== Noteworthy Exports ==
'''The magenta lemon''' is a citrus fruit found only in the forests of Mirr, noted for its purplish-pink and thick rind. It is considered to be the most sour fruit in existence. A popular game in Mirr, stemming from childhood: two contestants pluck the ripest lemon they can find and cut it into slices. Each contestant would then place a slice of fruit into his or her mouth and suck on it. They would keep adding slices until one contestant can no longer handle the sourness and gives up. This game is played by both adults and children, only the adults tend to add a drinking game to it. While fairly common in Mirr, they are exported in limited quantities, due to their short self life and are a novelty item on the mainland.

'''The Mirrian Fruit''' is another popular fruit in Mirr, a small crimson berry, found only on the island. It is a sweet, flavorful fruit that is used for preservatives and flavoring. When fermented, it can be made into a very strong alcoholic beverage that is typically served at weddings, funerals, and bachelor/bachelorette parties due to the strength of the drink.

'''Mirrian Steel''' is known to be among the strongest and most durable steel in Quelmar. Forged from ore taken from the volcanic regions of Mirr. Weapons and armor made from Mirrian Steel is highly sought out and a pure Mirrian steel sword is considered to be a mark of wealth and status; these blades can be noted by a slight reddish hue from the ore.

Production of Mirrian Steel has been mostly diverted to Krislindahl’s war efforts and his own needs. Many of the forges lie dormant, as the smiths have been conscripted by Krislindahl or displaced by the conflicts, others have fled to the mainland, disgusted by having to make weapons that would be used against fellow countrymen.

Noteworthy people who own a Mirrian Steel sword:

Queen Lucinda (forged as gift for her coronation)*

Krislindahl (more ornamental than anything)

Crage the Assassin (gifted by Krislindahl)

Slodder (gifted by Lucinda)**

<nowiki>*</nowiki>The fact that Queen Lucinda did not gift one to her father Lord Alffus was one of the many slights that he felt his daughter enacted upon him; Krislindahl promised to pay for the construction of one that would be given to him once the lord became king...this was a lie, of course, and Krislindahl had the sword made for himself, though he doesn’t know how to wield one.

<nowiki>**</nowiki>Wad, the other weaselfolk assassin, was also gifted a sword, but this blade was confiscated by Queen Lucinda after his failed assassination attempt and death. She gave this blade to her brother.

== Mirr Royal Family ==
King Prax descended from a long line of dragonborn kings and queens and ruled over Mirr for approximately 77 years. For purposes of this article, we will keep it at the "modern" royal line.

'''King Prax''' (deceased)- former Dragonborn King of Mirr

'''Queen Yilla''' (deceased)- First wife of King Prax, no offspring

'''Gustafar'''- adopted son of Prax, unknown parentage, he would never be king, but would be well taken care of, according to Prax's decree.

'''Queen Lucinda'''- Second wife of King Prax, two children (current ruler)

'''Lucinda's Unknown Lover-''' Dragonborn father of Ben and Sven (and, it would appear, Gustafar)

'''Svengette and Caliben'''- twin sons of Lucinda and heirs to the throne.

'''Lord Alffus''' (deceased)- noble landlord and father of Lucinda

'''Slodder-''' son and heir to Alffus' lands (if they had not been seized by Krislindahl), brother Lucinda

'''King Krislindahl-''' former usurper king of Mirr.

'''[[Oswald]]-''' heir to Krislindahl's throne; this proclamation was made on a whim, it is unknown if it was serious or if Krislindahl even remembered MAKING this proclamation...

== Other noteworthy residents of Mirr ==
'''Smelt-''' a diminutive dragonborn warrior; servant of Ben, served as a spy at Krislindahl Castle.

'''Crage the Assassin'''- a weaselfolk mercenary hired by Krislindahl alongside his partner Wad (deceased), to assassinate Lord Alffus. Now, a loyal commander in Krislindahl's mercenary army

'''Krislindahl's Mercenary Army™-''' An army of mercenaries hired from all over Quellmar to act as Krislindahl's personal army, used to "keep order," protect him, and fight against Queen Lucinda and her forces. An occupying force, very few of these men and women are actually from Mirr, which makes them particularly hated by the general populace of Mirr..though the native-born members of the army are also hated quite a lot. After Krislindahl's defeat, the army disbanded, with survivors fleeing the island while those that remained claimed to have never been a part of the army.

=== The Legend of the Undying Maldur ===
A notable, legendary resident of Mirr is the Undying Maldur. Maldur is a strange wolfen humanoid hermit of sorts who mostly resides in the woods of Mirr, because he hates nearly everyone. For centuries, he has been seen as something of a right of passage for certain wannabe warriors in Mirr. They would seek out Maldur and challenge him to mortal combat. If they bested Maldur, they would get a sense of accomplishment, but not much else. If they lost, they would simply die. Part of Maldur's curse is that he cannot refuse a sincere challenge, otherwise he would not fight at all, since he finds these duels to be a huge annoyance. No matter how grave his injury, he will always recover; he just requires time. Even if he were to be hewed to pieces and burned, he would recover eventually; he can only be briefly "inconvenienced" but never killed.

Over the years, Maldur has embraced his reputation. If one were to “slay” Maldur, he would find the his vanquisher days later and bestow upon them a commemorative coin they can show off to their friends. These coins are made from cheap material-not because he fears being robbed, but he wants to discourage people from robbing him, which would also be an annoyance to him.

Several years ago, Maldur encountered a young Sven. The young prince had no interest in fighting Maldur, despite being aware of his reputation. Instead, the two struck up a friendship and the two would occasionally play chess before the deposition of Lucinda and Sven's exile.

Maldur has currently taken a neutral stance and has barely been seen since the war between Lucinda and Krislindahl, but he disfavors Krislindahl more, since he and his army are outsiders to his homeland. Krislindahl has sent emissaries to find and challenge to a duel on his behalf. Krislindahl wishes to stage a fight with Maldur and bribe him to "take a dive" so he could in turn be seen as a mighty warrior king to his subjects. However, when you're immortal and have lived for so long, its very hard to bribe you. Krislindahl, in the meantime, was gifted a Maldur coin from someone who had defeated Maldur years ago and has it framed among other such awards in his royal trophy room with a plaque that reads "Gifted to King Krislindahl from a loyal subject. Krislindahl would decimate Maldur in a fight and is too cowardly to actually fight him in person!"
|
|
|}
'''Krislindahl''', third of his name, also known as the Usurper of [[Mirr]] by his enemies, was the despot ruler of Mirr. He was a changeling.

'''Beginnings'''

Krislindahl began his career selling dilapidated castles and estates at a considerable markup, cheating the buyers. By the time the purchasers realized they had been duped, Krislindahl skipped town, his abilities as a changeling and his endless list of aliases helping him elude retribution. His shady dealings eventually took him to the island kingdom of Mirr.

'''Life on Mirr, Seducing the Queen'''

Krislindahl’s main goal was initially to sell a summer villa on the mainland to Lord Alffus, a rich noble and father to Queen Lucinda. This is what gave Krislindahl a foot into the royal court.
King Prax had just died months prior and Queen Lucinda was enjoying her duties as queen of the realm. She was known to take lovers and Krislindahl took the opportunity to ingratiate himself to her, taking the form of a handsome dragonborn that he believed Lucinda would desire the most...he was right, and soon he became a favorite at court, a charismatic fellow who was often seated near the queen and would share secretive glances...although everyone knew what was going on between the two behind closed doors. [[Ben|Svengette and Caliben]] always looked upon Krislindahl with apprehension and distrust, but Krislindahl barely concerned himself with the two princes or their adopted elder brother Gustafar. Lucinda seemed to pay them very little mind and he figured that they could be dealt with if need be, before they reached maturity.

'''King Krislindahl'''

Lord Alffus had hoped when Lucinda was made queen, his status would improve, but Lucinda snubbed him at court. Krislindahl formed an alliance with him and the two put a plan into motion that would overthrow Lucinda and place Alffus on the throne.
When Lucinda and her entourage went to visit her brother Slodder, Krislindahl and Alffus demanded that the gates be locked against her when she returned. Alffus revealed that Lucinda had been unfaithful to her late husband, Ben and Sven were bastards, and she was not fit to rule. He declared himself king, but, as Alffus took the throne, Krislindahl hired two assassins, weaselfolk named Wad and Crage, to murder Alffus before the crown was placed upon his head. Krislindahl had considered sparing Alffus, but he had not paid for the entire balance owed for his summer villa.
Krislindahl then revealed his true form and declared himself king and that he would welcome anyone who came to his banner with open arms.
Krislindahl has been steadily burning through the vast royal treasury of Mirr. He uses most of the money to pay a mercenary army to wage his war against Queen Lucinda, but also sends gifts to neighboring kingdoms to get on their good side. However, most of the money went to the construction of the banners. Throughout the kingdom of Mirr, at every village that had at least a population of ten, there would be a large banner depicting the wide-armed symbol of King Krislindahl. Some of these banners could be seen clearly from miles away.

'''Ongoing Conflict'''

The war between Krislindahl and Queen Lucinda and her loyalists (there were more than he had expected, some loyal to King Prax, some that were loyal to Queen Lucinda and her brother Slodder) continued for several years, but stalled during the Freeze. Krislindahl put out a bounty for the queen, but no one ever delivered on it- he had sent the assassin Wad out on a stealth mission. Only his head returned with a note written in Wad’s own blood, in Lucinda’s own hand- threat that chilled Krislindahl’s blood...to save face, he pinned it to the wall in his throne room, but he hated to look at it, because he knew that Lucinda could kill him in a fair contest and she would not be merciful about it.

When the Freeze ended, the hostilities began anew. Someone began destroying and defacing the banners. Mercenary soldiers were attacked...Krislindahl was more upset by the banners and, for every destroyed one, he had three more raised to replace them. He also began construction on what he would call his greatest legacy: the Krislindahl Colossus: a giant statue that would be one of the greatest wonders of Quelmar depicting Krislindahl and his open arms and inscription that declared him to be the savior of Mirr! This project is said to be the most insanely expensive project in the history of the world, but Krislindahl claimed that it can be afforded.

Most recently, after hosting the Saurus Summit and summoning fine warriors from across Quelmar. During the Saurus Summit, Krislindahl decreed [[Oswald]] to be his heir, though this may have been a flight of fancy and remains to be seen if it is something he actually stands by. He also took a shine to the diminutive dragonborn, Smelt (thanks to a spell cast after Smelt almost gave himself away as Ben's henchman and loyalist to Queen Lucinda) who he appointed as a royal retainer. During the Summit, Krislindahl also caught sight of the ghostly apparition of Ben and realized that at least one of his enemy's sons had died. He instantly sent a messenger to spread the news around Mirr, hoping this loss would demoralize Lucinda.

Krislindahl supplied funds, weapons, soldiers, and Krislindahl hats to the battle against Orbis and, since that seemed to be successful, he decreed that the Krislindahl Colossus will not just let the world know that he is the savior of Mirr, but ALL of Quelmar. His banners have begun appearing on the mainland as well...perhaps these are just a sign of thanks to Krislindahl or they might be a warning of where his aspirations may lie now that he is seen as a hero to the world?

'''King Krislindahl: In His Own Words'''

Krislindahl has recently had Smelt transcribe his biography: "King Krislindahl: In His Own Words." The following is a passage from that book:

''I came from humble beginnings and I always believed in helping the less fortunate. When I saw how wickedly Queen Lucinda and her father ruled the kingdom of Mirr, I decided it was my destiny to give these poor wretches the kind of ruler they deserve. I have given them a banner that they can look upon with pride. I have given them a statue so they can always have something to remember me by. Me. Krislindahl the greatest king this poor, pathetic country could ever have. They love me and I love them back. Once I expel Lucinda, who failed her people so, so badly, Mirr will be the greatest nation in Quelmar and we will be beloved by all!''

'''The National Song of Mirr'''

He is also proposing this as the national song of Mirr:

''So now I rule o’er Mirr with open arms

''Nothing to hide, believe what I say''

''So here I am with open arms''

''Hoping you’ll see what your love means to me''

''Open arms''''

'''Defeat and Death'''

King Krislindahl met his demise when Sven, Ben, and Gustafar returned to Mirr with their allies, [[Clover Softpaw|Clover]], [[Red (Fantasial Freeze)|Red]], [[Clementine|Clem]], and [[Oswald]]. After a long and bloody conflict, Krislindahl revealed that he had made a deal with the Bearah (despite previously claiming to hate capybaras) and merged with the Krislindahl Colossus in an attempt to rally his troop. However, with the combined efforts of the allies-and Ben, fulfilling the prophecy depicted in the painting by Pietro and leading the final charge- the Mercenary army was defeated. Gustafar, using his magic, convinced the surviving soldiers to rush the Colossus, and toppled him over. As the defeated Krislindahl attempted one last plea to his former lover, Queen Lucinda quickly decapitated the despot and let his head tumble into the ocean, thus ending his reign and hopefully ushering in a long period of peace for the island kingdom.

With their leader dead, the few survivors of the mercenary army quickly dispersed, many claiming to have never served King Krislindahl. His longest-serving ally, Crage, met his end while trying to flee the battlefield and encountering Smelt and insultingly referring to him as a "kobold." The angered Smelt returned this insult with a spear through the assassin's skull.

'''Legacy'''

Despite his demise, there are still many Krislindahl banners throughout Quelmar. While most of them remain aloft out of laziness and neglect, there has been report of at least one tiny cult that treat the banners as sacred relics. These people believe that Krislindahl did not truly die and that he will return and embrace his followers with open arms. These cultists are not taken very seriously.
|
|
|}

|
|
|}
'''Krislindahl''', third of his name, also known as the Usurper of Mirr by his enemies, was the despot ruler of Mirr.

'''{{PAGENAME}} '''is the half-brother and former nemesis of Ben and Sven. He is a blackguard dragonborn in the [[The Fantasial Freeze|Fantastical Freeze]].

== Physical Appearance ==
Gustafar is a green dragonborn, standing at approximately 6 ft 5, though he slouches. He wears a black tattered traveler's robe.

== Personality ==
Gustafar is cunning, sly and manipulative, but also has a sense of honor: he is pragmatic in that he will not fight without cause, nor will he kill blood relations, and once he owes a debt, he will not let it go unrepaid. He also has an addictive personality, be it his hunger for power or his hunger for vices.

It remains to be seen if his negative traits are still as strong now that he is trying to redeem himself and go down the straight and narrow.

== History ==
Gustafar's parentage is unknown. As a child, he was found on a bloody battlefield during the Mirr Civil War by King Prax, who adopted the orphan and promptly ended his campaign of bloodshed and conquest.

Gustafar enjoyed a life of luxury at Mirr castle and wanted for nothing. However, he knew that he was not of noble blood and would never inherit the throne of Mirr. This was a constant thought in his mind, but he was cared for and therefore tried not to dwell on it too much. Then life in Mirr began to unravel once the aged King Prax took a new queen: [[Lucinda]]. With a queen, Prax's attentions shifted away from Gustafar, while he was not mistreated per se, he was constantly ignored and left to his own devices.

One night, while wandering the palace alone with his thoughts, he saw a hooded figure exit Queen Lucinda's chambers. In the darkness, all Gustafar could tell was that it was a dragonborn. Approximately nine months later, the twins [[Ben|Svengette and Caliben]] were born. Prax's heirs were secured. While Lucinda's infidelities were open secrets in the court of Mirr, the two princes were treated as if they were Prax's flesh and blood and the future rulers of the island kingdom. Again, Gustafar's situation was unaffected, but his resentment continued to brew.

As time went by, Gustafar watched the king wither away. When Prax was finally on his deathbed, Gustafar was not called for nor did he make the effort to speak to him once last time. He watched the child princes Sven and Ben mourn, but did not join them.

When Queen Lucinda was overthrown by the usurper [[Krislindahl]] and began her campaign to regain her throne, she decided to send the young princes to the mainland for their safety and so that she would not have to be burdened by them. She assigned Gustafar with the task of protecting them, giving him a great sum of money that she was able to retrieve from the Mirr treasury.

Once on the mainland, Gustafar made sure the twins had just enough for food and shelter, but he would frequent gambling dens and go drinking, whoring, and gaming. One night, he got in a tussle with some lowlifes and, after a fight, the establishment burned down with Gustafar presumed dead. In fact, as the building burned around him, a voice in the flames whispered to him, promising him power and glory, what he had been denied at Mirr. Gustafar saw a hand reach through the flames and he took it.

Gustafar became an undead lord and was given charge of an undead army that would ravage villages at night. For years, he served this mysterious entity until, one day, he was reunited with the adult Ben and Sven, who had been mentored by a self professed holy man named Calder in the ways of being a slayer. Gustafar was able to read Calder's thoughts and knew him to be a hypocrite, and easily killed him in the ensuing battle. Gustafar was also able to mortally wound Ben in this battle. However, Gustafar was fatally stabbed by Sven during this encounter with a blessed blade. As Gustafar faded away, he realized too late that he had made a deal with the wrong entity...whatever god or dark force he had pledged himself to was weak and ineffectual.

In Orbus, Gustafar struck a deal with the Bheara to become a champion and with it have more power and strength...and a promise of revenge against the two princes. For years, he waited as his power grew. When Sven died, Gustafar took the opportunity to haunt Ben's dreams, posing as Sven, hoping that he could trick Ben into taking his hand; with this gesture, Gustafar would pull Ben into Orbus and he would be able to reenter the land of the living. He came close a few times, but it wasn't until Ben was lying, dying on the ground that Gusfar finally tricked Ben into taking his hand. Ben's body was destroyed and Ben's colleagues were plunged into Orbus.

Gustafar returned to the land of the living aware that somehow Sven had escaped Orbus as well. Gustafar knew he could destroy him if he could track him down, but first he needed some help. He accompanied a group of travelers, disguised as Cluny and, after entering the dreamscape, he used his powers to make Edris, a champion of the Bheara, his servant. The two began their quest to hunt down Sven. However, these plans were thwarted when the heroes of Quelmar attacked Orbus, severing the link between Edris and Gustafar. Meanwhile, Gustafar was drawn back to Orbus and had to face Sven, Ben, and a retinue of allies they had made in their journeys. Ben cast a spell on Gustafar that cancelled his own sorcery and was easily defeated by the princes and their friends. In fact, a fatal blood was indeed struck, but, thanks to a favor of the Bheara, he was immediately resurrected, but his powers were still disrupted. Gustafar felt fear, since he knew that if he fell again, his soul would be destroyed. Sven stopped the onslaught against him and revealed that he did not want to kill Gustafar, since he had discovered that he was indeed their half brother; they all three had the same biological father. Gustafar was taken aback by this revelation and, in the confusion, Sven reached out and grabbed Gustafar and teleported him away to safety. Once away from the fray, Gustafar tried to kill Sven, but Sven knocked him unconscious with a single blow. When he regained consciousness, Gustafar asked Sven if it was true that they were half-brothers and Sven revealed that, while he was in the afterlife, it was a discovery that he made. Gustafar remembered the strange dragonborn leaving Lucinda's chamber all those years ago and wondered if that was indeed his father. Gustafar declared that, despite all that he's done, he is not a kinslayer and would not be the one to kill Sven or Ben. Meanwhile, Sven told Gustafar that he could be redeemed. While Gustafar felt this dubious, he did admit that since Sven saved his life, he would accompany the brothers, to prove Sven right or wrong (Ben, meanwhile, was skeptical and not keen on having his former murderer travel with them).

After the battle in Orbus, the link with the Bearah was severed and those that had accepted favors from him were inflicted with a sickness nicknamed SLOBS. All three brothers felt a degree of this, but Gustafar, having been in service of the Bearah so long, was made comatose. He slipped in and out of consciousness, but he remembered Sven as the only one still standing and his declaration of "We will all see Mirr together."

While in his comatose state, he found himself in a strange dream realm, a bed and breakfast, with several heroes of Quelmar. During this time, he was forced to come to terms with himself, all that he's done, and the reasons he became he who he was. During this dream quest, he was able to balance his humors and stabilize his sickness. The sickness was removed entirely via a giant penguin who eats SLOBS and other such inflictions.
== Physical Appearance ==
Gustafar is a green dragonborn, standing at approximately 6 ft 5, though he slouches. He wears a black tattered traveler's robe.

== Personality ==

== History ==

'''Ben''' is the twin brother of the Sven (aka Svengette), both of whom are PC dragonborn slayers as part of the [[The Fantasial Freeze|Fantasial Freeze]].

== Origins ==
Many years ago, in an island kingdom of Mirr, the deposed dragonborn queen Lucinda gave birth to a pair of twins '''Svengette''' (AKA Sven) and '''Caliben''' (AKA Ben). Lucinda had no love for her children, seeing them as a burden, especially since she was planning to wage a war against the ones that had overthrown her, including '''[[Krislindahl]]''', her shapechanger (former) lover who usurped her as ruler of Mirr and led the army that overthrew her.

She put the twins in the care of Gustafar, the adopted adult (dragonborn) son of her dead husband (adopted before Lucinda and the dead king were married, so she had no emotional attachment to him either) and paid for their voyage to the mainland.

== Gustafar and Calder ==
Gustafar spent Lucinda’s money on beer, gambling, and prostitutes in the coastal town. Eventually, the money ran out and Gustafar got in a fight with a couple lowlifes. Gustafar cast fire on the hut and was too drunk to escape, so all three perished (though Gustafar’s body was never found).

Young Sven and Ben were left to fend for themselves and were adopted by a human passerby who happened to be a slayer. This man’s name was Calder. Calder taught Sven and Ben how to be slayers and how to fight. Calder claimed to be a holy man in addition to being a slayer and only killed those who “had it coming” in the eyes of his god.

Sven and Ben developed a knack for slaying as they entered their teenage years — Ben had a bit more of bloodlust than Sven, who kept him level-headed. Calder would tout the dragonborn brothers around with him and purge villages of monsters and evil entities that plagued the land. They were very successful and Calder became very rich (Calder claimed that Slayers took a vow of poverty and that he would donate all of his gains to the church once he returned to Schmendelton).

== Calder’s Hypocrisy ==
One night, while they were camping outside of a village, Ben awoke to see Calder sneak some of the money from their money box and enter the town. Ben followed him to a tavern. Once inside, Ben watched Calder spend the money, get drunk, and flirt with prostitutes. Ben finally confronted him and Calder explained this is the will of the gods for their slayers to enjoy themselves.

This is when Ben started indulging in life’s pleasures...a little too much. Sven did not indulge and would constantly cast judgmental glances at Ben for his decisions.

== The Castle and Gustafar’s Return ==
A few years later, Calder took Ben and Sven to a castle that was said to house an evil entity. Ben was very hungover from the previous night...he partied harder than Calder, who had enough foresight to go easy on things knowing what was to come the next night…

Upon arrival at the castle, they were attacked by undead monsters and, even in his hungover state, Ben was able to kill them easily. But it turned out these were merely pawns. They were being controlled by Gustafar.

It turns out that he did not perish in the fire all those years ago; when he was pinned down by debris, too drunk to escape from the flames, an entity appeared to him and promised to save him and grant him immeasurable power if he pledged his soul to him. Gustafar agreed and became an undead lord that had an army of undead and harvested the nearby village night after night.

Gustafar engaged Calder, Ben, and Sven in battle. Due to his previous night’s escapades, Ben was sluggish and slower than he would typically be. In the course of the battle, Gustafar mocks Calder, calling him a liar, a hypocrite, and a fraud. When Gustafar finally got bored with the human, he cast a spell that would burn Calder from the inside out.

As Calder cried out in pain as his body turned to embers, Gustafar told the brothers that he could teach them how to cast such dark magic and to no longer fear death. He would make them kings in the new world his master promised them. Sven refused outright while Ben wavered. Gustafar touched him and Ben had a vision of a world of fire and debris and was horrified...but he also suddenly felt sick from last night’s carousing. He vomited into Gustafar’s face.

Disgusted, Gustafar impaled Ben and threw him across the room. As he slowly lost consciousness, he watched as Sven fought Gustafar. Ben would slip in and out of consciousness for the next several days.

== Aftermath of the Battle ==
He pieced a few things together: Sven managed to slay Gustafar and had burned his body. Sven mentioned that he saw some visions, too, but he did not want to talk about them. They were now traveling somewhere — some moments he was in an inn, others he was in a cart and could hear the sound of galloping hooves, others the splash of water against a boat.

One night, Gustafar appeared to him in the darkness, his eyes glowing red in the shadows. “You’re gonna die, you know,” he said. “I gave you my disease and it will hollow you out. When your death finally comes, you will be overcome with joy to meet it!”

When Ben awoke and was lucid, he found himself in the infirmary at the church in Schmendleton, Sven sitting at his bedside alongside a friar. The friar announced that “Brother Ben” had indeed been poisoned by Gustafar, but they had treated it and he would make a full recovery.

Later, Ben asked Sven why was he was called Brother Ben. Sven explained: in exchange for saving his life, the church demanded that Ben and Sven join the church. They would refuse treatment unless they agreed. Sven readily agreed while Ben accepted in a moment of delirium. Ben was, of course, taken aback but Sven eventually convinced him to give it a try.

== Life in the Church ==
Years passed in relative peace at the church. Sven and Ben put aside their weapons and learned new skills:

* Ben found he had a knack for creating music — whenever he felt an urge for violence, he would find an instrument and play.
* Sven was quite good at weaving.

The two studied sacred texts and became priests, though it took Ben a bit longer, since he wasn’t sure he was 100% onboard with the modest living, life of celibacy, and vow of poverty that was expected of him.

When the head abbot died, things changed. Corruption within the church seemed more prevalent; bribes were taken, vows were broken, etc. Both Ben and Sven were suspicious, but, being the only dragonborn priests in the church, they felt they were not inclined to say anything (the degrees of the corruption is still an area I’m unsure about).

== Pilgrimage and Corruption ==
Eventually, the head priest announced that he would send several of the priests on a pilgrimage to spread the word of their god (and to collect money from new followers). Sven was chosen. He was given his sword back as well as a blessing and sent out into the cold world.

Before leaving, Sven told Ben to keep prying and root out the corruption and report his findings to the head priest. Ben would do just that.

When he gathered enough evidence, he planned to reveal it to the head priest. It took several months. At one point, he had a nightmare and awoke with the thought that something had happened to his brother...he shook the thought off and continued his own investigations.

When he finally had enough evidence, he sought an audience with the head priest. The head priest read his report and laughed. He said that the only thing he was mad about was that he was not getting his full share. When Ben called him out on his corruptedness, the priest demanded that Ben be defrocked and excommunicated from the church. Two of the church guards then bodily threw the dragonborn from the church...and that is when we were introduced to him in the story.

== Ben’s Purpose ==
After learning about his brother’s death, Ben decided he would make his purpose to find out what happened to Sven.

A few days into his journey, he began to hear a voice in his head, one that sounded an awful lot like Sven, telling him to help people. The voice was faint at first and he ignored it, but then it became louder, almost as if it was in the same room. He keeps the information to himself.

He also plans to find more evidence to expose the corruption of his former brotherhood, since he is beginning to see more and more influence across the world.

== About ==
Mirr is an island kingdom off the coast of Osugbo.

== Notable Places ==

== Notable Events ==

'''The Saurus Summit''': An event hosted by Krislindahl, where some of the finest warriors in Quelmar were summoned to address the on-going Orbis situation, which resulted in Krislindahl providing funding, weapons, and soldiers to the climatic battle.

== Noteworthy Exports ==

== Mirr Royal Family ==
King Prax descended from a long line of dragonborn kings and queens and ruled over Mirr for approximately 77 years. For purposes of this article, we will keep it at the "modern" royal line.

'''King Prax''' (deceased)- Last(??) Dragonborn King of Mirr

'''Queen Yilla''' (deceased)- First wife of King Prax, no offspring

'''Gustafar'''- adopted son of Prax, unknown parentage, he would never be king, but would be well taken care of, according to Prax's decree.

'''Queen Lucinda'''- Second wife of King Prax, two children

'''Lucinda's Unknown Lover-''' Dragonborn father of Ben and Sven (and, it would appear, Gustafar)

'''Svengette and Caliben'''- twin sons of Lucinda and heirs to the throne.

'''Lord Alffus''' (deceased)- noble landlord and father of Lucinda

'''Slodder-''' son and heir to Alffus' lands (if they had not been seized by Krislindahl), brother Lucinda

'''King Krislindahl-''' current king of Mirr and usurper of Lucinda.

'''[[Oswald]]-''' heir to Krislindahl's throne; this proclamation was made on a whim, so it remains to be seen if it was serious or if Krislindahl even remembers MAKING this proclamation...

== Other noteworthy residents of Mirr ==
'''Smelt-''' a diminutive dragonborn warrior; servant of Ben, currently serving as a spy at Krislindahl Castle.

'''Crage the Assassin'''- a weaselfolk mercenary hired by Krislindahl alongside his partner Wad (deceased), to assassinate Lord Alffus. Now, a loyal commander in Krislindahl's mercenary army

'''Krislindahl's Mercenary Army™-''' An army of mercenaries hired from all over Quellmar to act as Krislindahl's personal army, used to "keep order," protect him, and fight against Queen Lucinda andher forces. An occupying force, very few of these men and women are actually from Mirr, which makes them particularly hated by the general populace of Mirr..though the native-born members of the army are also hated quite a lot.

'''Queen {{PAGENAME}} '''is the deposed queen of [[Mirr]] and the mother of [[Ben|Ben and Sven]].

== Physical Appearance ==
Queen Lucinda is considered very stunning, even by those who are not dragonborn; she stands at 6 ft 2 and is lean but with clear musculature, with smooth light green scales with thin black stripes and piercing yellow eyes. In court, she wore the regal, fetching robes of a noble-blooded queen, but since being deposed she wears animal pelts and more modest, but practical attire.

== Personality ==
Queen Lucinda is often seen as cold and calculating, but also is known for having a short temper. Before the war, she was known for being very lustful, as seen by her penchant for taking constant lovers. As a mother, she is aloof, but this may be due to her lacking maternal instincts.

She is very prideful and typically vain-though the hardships of recent years have lessened this trait. While she still strives to embody the warrior queen her reputation demands, she is no longer as obsessed with her image as she once was.

== History ==
Lucinda began life as the daughter of Lord Alffus, who descended from a long line of wealthy landowners in Mirr. However, these lands were decimated by King Prax's armies during the great Mirr civil war. As such, Lucinda grew up with hatred for the king, for the lost prestige and riches that their family once had. Despite the lost prestige, Alffus still raised her to be a proper noblewoman who could catch the eye of any noble-blooded suitor. Lucinda and her brother, Slodder, were also fed stories of the warriors of Mirr legend and, as such, they both learned how to fight and engaged in war games against each other, skills that would later serve them well.

Despite their hatred for the king, when peace broke out and King Prax announced he was looking for a queen to bear blood-heirs to the throne and also give him companionship for his final years, Alffus primped and preened his young daughter to be the perfect candidate. He knew that having his beautiful daughter on the throne would be his way to regain his wealth, prestige, and power. He hoped to use Lucinda as his meal ticket...something that Lucinda resented him for.

While life as queen made her life easy and secure, she still hated the old dragonborn who had diminished her previous prospects, so she always looked at him with disgust and loathing. Since Prax was so old, he was unable to perform his husbandry duties and she was disgusted by his old, sickly and frail form. Since she was still young and vivacious, she took several lovers behind the king's back. This was an open secret and Prax must have known, though he appears to have decided to turn a blind eye. Alffus for certainly knew and warned his daughter to only take dragonborn lovers for optical reasons.

After a tryst with a wandering stranger, Lucinda found out she was pregnant with a set of twins. While everyone at court seemed to know the babes were not Prax's, the king was still delighted. Lucinda hated having these babies growing inside her, but Alffus told her to go on with the pregnancy to ensure their place.

Svengette and Caliben (Sven and Ben) were born. While the king was delighted and doted on the children, Lucinda did the bare minimum as a mother (as a queen, she had nursemaids take care of the children); she was not so much cruel to the children, but she was distant and sometimes cold to them. She tried to tell them stories and play with them, but did not know how to really interact with children, even if they were her own.

As soon as she recovered from the birth, Lucinda began taking lovers once more. One of these was a young noble dragonborn that Alffus had done business dealings with, [[Krislindahl]]. The two hit it off very quickly once he came to court and saw each other often; Krislindahl was able to please her more than any previous lover. King Prax, meanwhile, was beginning to grow sick and feeble, his faculties diminishing and his eyesight failing. Alffus and Lucinda knew it was only a matter of time before he passed on.

On his deathbed, King Prax told Lucinda that she would be his heir and rule as queen until Ben and Sven were of age. Since Lucinda was the only one to hear this decree, she kept certain details to herself. She did indeed plan to yield power over to Ben and Sven, but only when she was ready to do so, be that when the twins came of age or when she was as old and frail as Prax himself. She shared this information with her father, who grew giddy about his future prospects, hoping to be the right hand of the queen. She also shared this information with Krislindahl, who vowed to serve her well when she was queen.

When the king died, Lucinda was crowned queen. She did indeed grant her father a place in court, but no special ranks or privileges, remembering how he had used her merely as a bargaining chip to further his own standings. She also refused to bestow upon him an honorary Mirrian sword; although Alffus was not a warrior, owning such a sword was considered a high honor and mark of distinction. Krislindahl noticed these slights, took Alffus aside and plotted the overthrow of Lucinda.

It had been several years since Lucinda saw her beloved brother Slodder and so, one day, she decided to go visit him for a hunting trip. She took her sons, stepson Gustafar, and a retinue of soldiers to go and visit. Immediately, Alffus and Krislindahl set their plan in motion. Alffus announced the illegitimacy of the two princes and declared himself ruler of Mirr. Lucinda and her escorts heard this news on the way to Slodder's lands and rushed back home to find the gates locked upon them. Alffus demanded Lucinda denounce the crown and declare loyalty to him. Lucinda refused and retreated to her brother's land to make plans.

Meanwhile, while Alffus was ready to ascend the throne, he was assassinated by Wad and Crage, two weaselfolk mercenaries hired by Krislindahl, and Krislindahl, revealing himself to be a changeling, declared himself the new king of Mirr and declared war on Lucinda, who he called a deceiver and betrayed the people of Mirr and her sovereign by her infidelity to the previous king. And thus began the war between Lucinda's forces and Krislindahl and his mercenary army.

Lucinda put her two sons in the care of Gustafar, her dead husband's adopted son, with a substantial sum of money to take care of them. She did this partially to keep them safe but also to keep them out of her way while she fought this bloody war. She put them out of her mind as she fought to retake her throne.

Krislindahl's money (actually the Mirr treasury) was enough to entice lots of warriors from near and far to fight under his banner, but Lucinda had her supporters: loyalists to her and the royal family, as well as those who did not want to see their homeland ruled over by a usurper.

In the first few months of fighting, Krislindahl sent Wad out to find and kill Lucinda. She was found in a small camp in the east. However, Lucinda was ready for the assassin, easily killed him and sent his severed head to Krislindahl with a note scrawled in the weaselfolk's own blood, that scared Krislindahl so much that, even though he posted it on his wall to save face, he refuses to look at it.

The war raged on for years, Lucinda and Krislindahl's forces going back and forth, exchanging victories and losses. Then the Freeze happened. While Krislindahl was shacked up snuggly in the castle, Lucinda's forces took a devastating blow. Many died, while other soldiers returned home to care for their lands. Rumors ran rampant that Lucinda had died. However, she was hunkered down, planning her next move. The war was at a stalemate, though Krislindahl felt it was victory.

When things began to thaw, Lucinda put rumors of her death to rest by rallying her troops once again, destroying the banners of Krislindahl, and renewing hostilities toward his forces. Krislindahl, meanwhile, continues propaganda about her and, now that he is seen as a sort of hero, thanks to his assistance against Orbis, the whole world may be against her efforts. Furthermore, she has recently received unsubstantiated news via an emissary, that one of her sons, Ben, had died (rumors are his ghost appeared to Krislindahl during the events of the Saurus Summit). While she was unsure if she would ever see either of her sons again, this news hit her harder than she expected...she is filled not with sorrow, but with rage and she has vowed that Krislindahl will pay. She is rallying the troops once again for the big final conflict...but she realizes she may need some extra help.

== Powers and Abilities ==
Like most dragonborn, Lucinda is able to breathe fire, though she was discouraged from doing so, as it was deemed "unladylike". She is a very skilled warrior on her own account, though.

== Attacks and Weapons==
Lucinda owns a sword of Mirrian Steel, a regional metal renowned for its strength, which was gifted to her on her wedding day. She definitely knows how to use it and very well.{{Worldbuilders}}

== About ==
Mirr is an island kingdom off the coast of Osugbo.

== Reign of King Prax/Mirr Civil War/Uneasy Peace/Queen Lucinda/King Krislindahl/Ongoing Hostilities ==

His second queen, Queen Lucinda, and her noble father Lord Alffus had come from a rich family who suffered much loss since the wars.

== Notable Places ==

== Notable Events ==

'''The Saurus Summit''': An event hosted by Krislindahl, where some of the finest warriors in Quelmar were summoned to address the on-going Orbis situation, which resulted in Krislindahl providing funding, weapons, and soldiers to the climatic battle.

== Noteworthy Exports ==

== Mirr Royal Family ==
King Prax descended from a long line of dragonborn kings and queens and ruled over Mirr for approximately 77 years. For purposes of this article, we will keep it at the "modern" royal line.
'''[[Oswald]]-''' heir to Krislindahl's throne; this proclamation was made on a whim, so it remains to be seen if it was serious or if Krislindahl even remembers MAKING this proclamation...

Others}}'''Mirr''', the home of the two dragonborn princes, Caliben and Svengette, is an island kingdom, currently ruled by the usurper king, Krislindahl.

== About ==
Mirr is an island kingdom off the coast of Osugbo.

== Reign of King Prax/Mirr Civil War/Uneasy Peace/Queen Lucinda/King Krislindahl/Ongoing Hostilities ==

His second queen, Queen Lucinda, and her noble father Lord Alffus had come from a rich family who suffered much loss since the wars.

'''Krislindahl''', third of his name, also known as the Usurper of Mirr by his enemies, is the current ruler of Mirr. He is a changeling.

'''Krislindahl''', third of his name, also known as the Usurper of Mirr by his enemies, is the current ruler of Mirr. He is a changeling.

Most recently, after hosting the Sarus Summit and summoning fine warriors from across Quelmar, Krislindahl supplied funds to the battle against the Bearah and Orbus and, since that seemed to be successful, the Krislindahl Colossus will not just let the world know that he is the savior of Mirr, but of all of Quelmar. His banners have begun appearing on the mainland as well.

'''King Krislindahl: In His Own Words'''

Krislindahl has recently had Smelt, a diminutive dragonborn who once served under Queen Lucinda, transcribe his biography: "King Krislindahl: In His Own Words." The following is a passage from that book:

''Hoping you’ll see what your love means to me''
The war between Krislindahl and Queen Lucinda and her loyalists (there were more than he had expected, some loyal to King Prax, some that were loyal to Queen Lucinda and her brother Slodder) continued for several years, but stalled during the Freeze.
