"Whoever has the key controls the Forge" - The Curator
The Shadow Forge is another unique instance of Quelmar's Mysterious Architecture, a strange place that never seems to exist in the same place twice, and exists between dimensions.
About[edit | edit source]
The Shadow Forge appears to pump and channel energies from The Shadowfell. The forge itself also seems to be a semi-sentient force, as when under attack, it appears to coelesce these shadow energies into umbral creatures intent on fighting off the assault.
Entry[edit | edit source]
Accessing the Shadow Forge was nearly impossible for mortal creatures, and required a special type of key, a fey key made of Wovenstone that enlightened the darkness to access the exact locations that these shadowy places seemed to float across existence. Even more so than that, this particular pocket plane had been locked in triplicate by whoever held the Forge's master key -- Overriding the shadow key required at least three of the exact same fey key in order to pass into its chambers.
Operation[edit | edit source]
The Shadow Forge had 4 main chambers, each of which had almost eldritch-looking machinary control panels. Each chamber was slaved to a master chamber in which the Forgemaster could dictate all operations. In order to run the master chamber, however, one needed The Forge Key, made of Fellstone.
History[edit | edit source]
In 825 PR, the Shadow Forge was shut down on orders of the mysterious archfey known as The Curator.
