Gloomwings are giant parasitical moths originating from the Shadowfell who prey on the weak and alone.

Gloomwings are large moths that find their homes in the Shadowfell where they prey on the weak and injured. They reproduce by laying their eggs in the corpses of living creatures.
It is common that during rituals that connect to the Shadowfell that Gloomwings are able to slip through into the material realm.
History[edit | edit source]
Shortly before The Umbral Flood, an alarming number of Gloomwings began to appear all over Isonhound, especially towards the north. It was said they attracted the citizens of the woods, who "danced with the wings", not realizing they were being hynotized and drawn out in hopes that the moths may lay their eggs in the bodies of the victims.
