Sand Krakens are monsters that lurk beneath the shifting sands of the Pteris Deserts.
Deep Sand Scions[edit | edit source]
Like their oceanic counterparts, the Sand Krakens were also frequently accompanied by Sand Scions, monstrous shapeshifters whose siren-like goal was to traverse the deserts and trick other creatures into making their way into the monstrous maw of the kraken. They were able to devour and absorb the likeness of humanoids they came across, making them much more dangerous versions of Doppelgangers. If you saw one shift into a creature you knew, you could be certain that they had already finished off your friend.
Notably, a Deep Sand Scion almost managed to hijack the entire DarkSon Princess, a massive cruise ship used to traverse between Al'Adeaf and Nymphsview.
