The Starberry is a rare and magical fruit native to Kaldesh. It closely resembles the appearance of grapes, however are distinct in their star shape which coined their name. Starberries can be enjoyed ripe off the vine or cultivated for various other uses. Its most influential form is through wine, which the Dubois family has mastered throughout the generations; their wine is said to be of exceptional make and the experience of drinking is one of a kind. The starberry also contains potent medicinal properties which makes it an excellent ingredient for potions.

Single Berry (10gp)
Picked fresh from a vine, a ripe starberry is said to have a juicy start and a sweet aftertaste. Consuming one qutmatically allows a person or creature to regain 10hp. If a person is at maximum health, a raw starberry grants the consumer an 5 temp hp which may stack and last until they are used up.
Starberry Juice[edit | edit source]
Bottle (20gp)
Starberry juice is the most affordable form of the fruit, besides buying the berry itself. Consuming the juice allows the player to recover 1d6hp and gives them the temporary trait "Quenched" which allows the player to go an extended amount of time without need for water. A player may go up to 5days without need of water after drinking an entire bottle.
Starberry Wine[edit | edit source]

The most famous of its form, the starberry can be made into the most delicious of wines. When a person consumes a glass of Starberry wine, they are transported back to a time of pure happiness in their life. After consuming a glass (or two) of Starberry wine, a player may 1d6. On a 5 or 6, the player gains a point of inspiration as the wine revigorates their sense of self. This can only be done once per day (not long rest) regardless of how many glasses (or bottles) a person drinks.
Consuming too much wine can cause the usual hang over that alcoholic beverages incur.
Starberry Jam[edit | edit source]
Jar (65gp)
A Jar of Starberry jam is a new creation of the Du Bois family and has had a high success rate. The jam make a delicious spread for any edible item. Additionally, it can be used as a form of paste to heal a wound (cure wounds). You may also add the jam to medicinal items. The potency of the medicine is doubled. For example, if you dip a Goodberry into the jam, the berry now allows you to regain 2hp. A single jar holds enough jam for 4 uses.
