The Blowt can refer to one of two things: either a mysterious force that possesses creatures, typically those who have died, and connects them to the Bheara, or the "race" of beings that has emerged from the Otherworld to besiege Quelmar during the Fantasial Freeze. The Blowt are the end result of Frost Giant revenants from Orbis Alius posessing creatures (and rarely objects) as part of a siege on Quelmar during the Fantasial Freeze. They are antagonistic and violent, and seek the destruction of all living things specific things?

About

When X the Paladin used the Wand of the Spout to freeze the Ocean, the Blowt emerged soon after. Strange creatures they were; dragonflyfolk, whalefolk, mosquitofolk, and other humanoid creatures that had never walked the lands of Quelmar now slew citizens of southern Osugbo. They seemed mindless at first; the only readily available pieces of information were that the Blowt are connected to death/places of death, they are enlarged by whatever force is animating them, and they can be summoned by blowing on flutes carved from the bones of other Blowt.

It was not until several PCs journeyed into the Veil that the nature of the Blowt became more apparent. A skeletal monster named Thesaurus waits beyond the realm of death for creatures to become Blowted, a fascimile of life to carry out the orders of the Bheara.

We have also learned that living creatures can become Blowt themselves, which boosts their physical strength at the cost of their mind - they are cursed to follow orders despite their own nature, as the Kaiju Penguin Blowt indicate. Some PCs have taken on this curse, Ravel's army now contains Blowted soldiers, and other variations may exist.

At the end of Act I of the Freeze, the source of the Blowt's energy is located in Paraska Manor. Whatever entity exists there is ancient, evil, and perhaps not of this world - it warps the very fabric of reality to bend characters like Savile to its will.

The Blowt as a race have taken up residence in the city of Ravel, have taken over Tusgrer, and a hole in the Ocean ice that leads to the Otherworld lies between the two cities. It is the goal of the remaining cities of southern Osugbo to contain this scourge and help Quelmar get back to a place of peace.

In Act 2, infamous Blowt were able to be hunted by PCs in the form of Bounty Boxes, where the party could use which Blowt to target based on party level & composition. The Blowt hunted were:

 • Mr. Mosquito, who seemed to warp back in time to haunt the village of Tusgrer. The heroes dealt with him by killing him multiple times, with all of Tusgrer's Blowted townsfolk as casualties. The fight opened up a Blowthole in the center of the town.

Being Blowted

Though Blowt refers to the creatures who have a similar set of symptoms (large in size, blue skinned or furred or eyed, a bit savage), it seems that the Blowt all suffer from a condition that has been passed on to others, including heroes, which is called "Blowted". Being Blowted seems to be a disease of sorts, since it can be cured in similar fashion. The following methods have been confirmed to cure or save someone from a state of being Blowted:

 1. The Gohei, temporarily removes active blowt from anyone in its radius, like a bubble of purification. However, the blowt itself can then freely appear, separate from its host, and automatically returns to the host if the Gohei is deactivated or moved away.
 2. Natural Remedies, a verderer art.
 3. Soverign Remedy, an alchemist art
 4. Philosopher's Stone, an alchemist art
 5. Purge Ailment, a healer art
 6. Purified Body, a Vowed art
 7. Unaging, a necromancer art
 8. Immaculate Body, a slayer art
 9. Occult Resilience Level 2, a set of feats
 10. Conjunct the Vital Viscera, a level 3 spell
