Location University of Xyrneiros, Osugbo

One of the eleven Colleges at the University of Xyrneiros in Osugbo

About the Department[edit | edit source]

A relationship of disciplines which understands the past and future to be linked—both by the forces of magical prognostication but also by the rise and fall of states and nations. A sufficient knowledge of Political Science and History helps Divination Mages better memorize and understand significant dates in the past and yet to come, but also teaches them to think in more complex ways about the interconnected factors that both influence historical events and could complicate prophecies.

Traditions Among Majors[edit | edit source]

Accepting payment at the end of every semester to prognosticate what questions will be asked in individual students’ final exams—A tradition which has occasionally prompted intervention from administrators, and made giving multiple forms of tests to classes a standard practice among faculty.

Fascinatingly, this tradition has discouraged test-based demonstrations of knowledge at the upper levels of College majors, and incentivized professors to focus more on practical demonstrations of skills, capstone research, and personalized projects rather than standardized tests.

Of course, the common prank of offering to read someone’s fortune and then making things up also never gets old.
