The Artificial Moonwells were creations of Tolmé Pendergras created after The Umbral Flood destroyed Isonhound, turning it into Umbralhound.
Power[edit | edit source]
The Artificial Moonwells functioned similarly to The Light of the Watchful Moon in that they kept an area purified and defended against energies from the Shadowfell.
Note: The original Moonwell had the additional ability to also keep away Dragons, this was not able to be replicated in the artificial version, and Tolme still has no idea why the Moonwell could do that, chalking it up to "Fey Bullshit".
About[edit | edit source]
The artificial constructions required two things: Cymulean Crystals and Laridium Wires. The combination of these elements alongside his own artificing allowed him to replicate the effects of the Crystal Moonwell in a much more scientific manner.
Cymulean Crystals[edit | edit source]
Tolme explained to heroes who could gather the elements that these are one of many types of gems that can be used to channel arcane power. The unique thing about this type is that it can be used to focus and disburse the energy into a defined radius area. The bigger the crystal, the bigger the potential area. Few exist that can cover a radius that he is looking for to protect something like an airship. -
Laridium Wire[edit | edit source]
The Laridium was to be integrated into the prongs of the device that will hold the crystal. This wire will act as a resistant flow agent to allow the magic already enchanted/artificed in the device to draw in the shadow at a steady rate. This allows for a time allowance in a similar “bubble” where shadow is cleansed from the area. Without the Laridium, if the magic is discharged through the Cymulean crystal it would instantly suck up and negate a massive amount of shadow energy, it could also potentially shatter the crystal.
