Búho is a 30 yo Owlin from the great city of Galik. He left his homeland to search for new flavors to find the true essence of chocolate. Búho is an Eloquence Bard that channels his powers through flavor.
Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]
Búho is a small and is light on his feet at a diminutive 20 lbs. This allows him to comfortably perch on the shoulders of his allies and potential costumers. His feathers are gray on his torso and magenta on his wings. Please try to resist touching the feathers. Yes, owl feathers are renowned for being the softest around, so restraint is encouraged. As for this attire, since he is not a muscular bird of prey he wears shoulder puffs of course. His clothing is composed of various tones of purple with golden accents. Búho rarely blinks and can't move his eyes around, so he will turn his head up to 360 degrees to see around.
Búho cannot hide his profession, since he radiates a slight cocoa aroma. He is often seen sipping on a freshly made chocolate drink infused with ingredients he can source locally, and is never seen without his trusted Molinillo (it's a whisk used for making chocolate) at his waist.

He is a friendly businessman with a strong motivation to spread the joys of chocolate to anyone he meets. Búho prefers to resolve issues through words and good food than the sword. Despite his penchant towards amicable interactions, he is an enabler and loves a bit of chaos. The way he sees it, "Who am I to take pleasure away!?"
His dream of recreating the chocolate dragon egg he encountered decades ago drives him to explore the world. The recipe and ingredients used to create the chocolate egg of his dreams must exist somewhere out there!
Growing up in the big city, Búho learned at an early age that words can be used to great effect when talking to anyone, but he learned that true power and understanding comes from the stomach.

Born in the Entertainer’s Paradise of Amusa, Galik, Buho grew surrounded by composers, story tellers, and the best restaurants and bakeries in the continent. He was raised by his close-knit family and is the eldest of three siblings. The family has been in the pillow making business for generations, and are renowned for the quality of their soft feather-stuffed pillows. Buho was next in line to run the empire of Sky High Pillow Co, but everything changed when he experienced the essence of flavor. When Buho was a 10 yo owlet, he and his family were enjoying the festivities of the Nestle Harvest Festival while trying to establish a local pillow stand to sell their goods. He was wandering around when he spotted a mysterious tradeswoman who was cloaked and had a distinct accent selling exotic delicacies that she claimed were from exotic and distant lands. The young owlet and the traveling tradeswoman connected over their love of food. She flashed Buho a smile, “These sweets are delicate and balance, but they are just snacks in the end. Do you want to find out what is true flavor?” Intrigued, Buho nodded in the affirmative as he stuffed his beak with the goods in display. From her caravan, she unwrapped a large chest and when opened a single large dark egg could be seen. She cut a small piece and handed it to Buho and whispered, “this will be our little secret”. He was too excited to think about what was going on and placed the small chocolate piece into his mouth…
THUNDER! FLASH! ELECTRIC!
The young owlet could not comprehend what he was experiencing. He felt as though every cell and feather on his body was awake and alive as a single entity. As the chocolate melted on his tongue, his mind melted as well. He could see smell he could feel the world around him, and he could taste the real essence of flavor. The waves of flavor rippled through his being and awoke his senses to the plane of taste. His body was weightless, and the warmth of pure joy radiated through him. When he levitated back to reality, the caravan was nowhere to be seen. What had he just experienced? He had never tasted something so earth-shattering before, and he wanted to experience that again. This encounter would forever alter Buho and his mission in life: capture and recreate the essence of true flavor.
Buho splintered from the family business to pursue his passion for chocolate making and enrolled to in the Galik Bard College and under the tutelage of the legendary chocolatier Domingo Ghxocoatl, he learned to channel his passion into magic. Buho made connections with the Scribes and Libraries Guild to access their ancient literature on ancient baking and confectionery techniques from times long forgotten.
Though a talented chocolatier, Buho pursues the elusive essence of true flavor and has set out to explore new lands to find ingredients that may help him recreate the experience of the dragon chocolate egg.
Business[edit | edit source]
Buho established his own chocolate brand: The Cacao Treehouse. His products aim not only to take the pallet to another realm but to open the body to new possibilities. The most recent products to hit the market include: the hazelnut and pepper Creamy Delight, the aphrodisiac Blue Azure, the blue cheese chocolate fish mousse Pellets, and the aristocratic's favorite chocain.
Languages[edit | edit source]
Búho speaks common but learned how to speak Elvish after dealing with the cocoa growers in Orche-Astere, Isonhound for many years. The eladrin here grow the best fruits and veggies and any other green you may need. The best in the business!
His search for learning more about the dragon chocolate egg motivated Búho to learn draconic. He thought learning the language would help him better understand secret recipes. This is yet to pay off.
Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]
What he lacks in strength, Búho makes up for in supporting his allies. His words are honeyed and sweet, which help out allies with a good placed bardic inspiration. Against enemies, he can lay down some sass and drop the sting with his vicious mockery. Búho's magic is powered by the power of chocolate, and therefore his spells are the tastiest around.
Búho's mind-blowing experience with the DCE opened his mind to the sacred realm of flavor. This awoke Búho's ability to reach into other's minds. Búho is a gifted actor and when his acting combines with his telepathic abilities he becomes an unstoppable businessman.
Búho may be an ambitious chocolatier, but he is still a bird. Enemies beware, Búho may fly in the air and drop some fresh and organic guano on your face (Brown Note spell)!
Attacks and Weapons [edit | edit source]
Búho is not a fighter and would rather fly away or hide behind an ally's shield, but when cornered he has a final resort in his Molinillo. This tool is for mixing chocolate while it's hot, but it can be useful to bonk enemies on the head.
Did I mention Búho cannot digest chocolate, yet he eats it all the time? Búho has learned to weaponize this ;)
