Charlie the Octopus is a child's tale based of the legendary Octopus, Charlie.
It is said that late at night the Charlie would polymorph into a human to sneak into towns and steal away children who snuck out at night. Parent would tell this story to their kids in order to get them to behave, however, it couldn't be farther from the truth.
While Charlie did have abilities beyond belief, they used their powers for good and would be found many times helping sailors through the tumultuous waters. One account of Charlie came from a sailor making their way through the rough seas of Isonhound and Osugbo. The sailor lost her ship and part of her crew, but Charlie saved all that they could. The saved sailor was none other than the famous explorer Dekkardia Prathon who was the first person to visit all major land masses of Quelmar.
The truth behind who Charlie remains unknown to this day. It is also unknown whether or not they still live. However, every time a sailor is sent across the sea between Isonhound and Usugbo, there have been sightings of a large creature that lurks behind ships.
