It is said that the creation of a gorgon involves the sacrifice of a human soul, typically by placing it into the gorgon as it is forged.
Gorgons have the ability to petrify their prey through a gaseous breath.

The Troverth Dynasty, typically adverse to using magic, was one of the most well known users of gorgons within their armed forces. Typically untameable once created, the Troverthian gorgons were socially introduced into clans of similarly-clad silver samurai, and gorgons typically would "adopt" samurai clans as their own packs.
