The Necrolord Prime is the patron deity of the Order of the Necrolord Prime: a religion based around necromancy. The religion and deity are not native to the Quelmar Realm, but a small sect has formed around an obsidian stele in Isonhound. This stele offered the first people who discovered it a vision, a connection to the Necrolord Prime, and a way for his power to reach across the stars to grant energy to his followers. His domain is far from Quelmar, he has little power here, and seeks students of the arcane rather than mystics. His necromancy is a calculated process, and his goals with his small presence in Quelmar remain a mystery save for one thing: if the stele were to be bathed daily in blood for a full year, it is thought that he could manifest fully in the world.
The Necrolord's precepts are simple:
- Necromancy is meant to save, not enslave. It protects and preserves the minds, bodies, spirits, and souls of those in its care.
- Waste not, Want not. The energy of a death should not be allowed to go to waste. Whenever possible it should be captured and used for purpose.
- Thanergy for Thalergy. Death and Life are not opposites, but forces that feed into each other. You should not fear to cause death in preserving life, nor to lose life for greater goals.
- Will is the Only Way. Only the willing should be raised by necromancy. To bind a soul's energy back to a body without that is abomination.
- Blood and Bone. Blood bears power. Bone bears memory. Use the blood; keep the bone.
- One flesh, One end. The peak of necromancy requires cooperation and partnership. You will need dedicated companions that are not necromancers.
