Vadim Grimauld is a tiefling necromancer and eldritch dabbler who became trapped in The BackHalls in 490 PR. He once called himself "The Janitor" of the BackHalls and the name stuck, way to go Ben. He wanted to say "The Vulture: :*(
Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]
Vadim was already undead, seemingly decaying as he walked the halls, with flesh hanging half off his face and dangling from his fingers.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Totally had a thing with Seraphina
History[edit | edit source]
Vadim was haunted by Ahazu, and either came to the BackHalls to hunt Ahazu...or maybe Ahazu came here to hunt Vadim.
He watched his village be slaughtered, but was seemingly spared.
He prefers to scavenge, he doesn't like to make corpses or kill people to make bodies, he prefers to "clean up" the damage in the wake of destruction.
His last memory in Quelmar before banishment was of him being in the woods, practicing his newest spell when he felt another presence, a familiar glint piercing through the night.
Campaign[edit | edit source]
During the wondering of the halls, the group came across a little boy with a tome of spells (Imtri's Ancient Magic). While originally just trying to learn as much as he could from the book, Vadim reluctantly became a guardian of "Timmy" (as the group affectionately called him). Vadim wanted to teach Timmy about the world ... of course through his eyes ... er eye? that meant many analogies about the life/death cycle and trying to become strong enough to break it.
During the escape (the last fight during the Fracturing of the Weave) Vadim's face and arm starting to heal. Once the dust settled, the group faced a new, unfamiliar world seemingly void of magic. Vadim and Seraphina finally kissed, and set off to face this new chapter together.
