Melwythorne is a Neutral Good-Aligned Dryad First-Year General Studies Student at Deroulex's Select Conservatory of the Arcane. Despite his...naive demeanor, he is the oldest out of everyone at the University by far, to the point where he doesn't even remember his own age, only to the fact that it is at least 1000 years old. He lives a very peaceful, quiet, and slow life, simply trying things for the point of trying them, such as his role as a defender on the Intramural Silkball Team as well as joining the Student Mages of Faith.
Personal History[edit | edit source]
Melwythorne was born in Quelmar's Prehistory, a fact that he is not necessarily secretive, of, but it's a point of his life that most people don't truly get to understand the depths of. Born to a grove of dryads, in the age where magic was unexplained and conflict was avoidable, Melwythorne lived an incredibly peaceful life, refining his naturally born powers, and not worrying about the pressure of having to explain everything, only just living for each present day. This mindset drove him to such a point that, despite being intimately familiar with time since it's creation, he only views himself as 830, despite being much older than that.
As Quelmar's history began, Melwythorne did their best to keep on track, and excelled at becoming friends with the humans and elves that enjoyed and lived on Isonhound with him, as he firmly believed that the bounty of nature was meant to be shared with everyone. Even now, he often gets choked up on this, for he still believes it to be true after everything that has happened to him. He well and truly believed the humans enjoyed it when they commented on his slow speech, his passive way of living, something so antithetical to their own invention of time.
Melwythorne has since come to learn about what happened to him, all those years ago, when he was old, and yet so young, something that the history books of Quelmar have labeled as The Scattering. He doesn't remember much of the incident, but he feels its effects every day. His connection to the powers he once drew from are draining, as he is the only survivor left of his grove. He can feel the dry, withered branches on the top of his head where lush leaves once grew. And he has learned, since then, to try and make peace with the new world that he has been forced into.

Campaign History[edit | edit source]
Melwythorne first appeared in "Orientation Challenge," where he was on a team with Larine Arneza and Grayson Wildemere. His outdated vernacular, slow pace, and unwise demeanor slowed the team down quite a bit, but they were able to still make decent progress. When Melwythorne went to investigate one of the mimic-chests, he was attacked and sustained heavy damages. Though he was able to be rescued by Professor Starmello and Professor Veyran, the attack traumatized him, and he has been hiding out in Sedgemoor Swamp since.
He had a minor appearance in the minor-RP-event "All Hallow's Eve," where he ate pumpkin seeds the night before and grew/carved a jack-o-lantern to encase his head, since Melwythorne can't wear humanoid clothes.
His next appearance was in "Kickstarter," where he was asked to help locate an Amber Ooze that was traveling through Sedgemoor Swamp after it had eaten his silkball, an event that he was deeply depressed about. He was part of the struggle in Widdershins Hall, where he used his magic for the first time in the campaign's history to heal Astrid after they had been attacked. He got his silkball back, which he was very happy about, and also arranged a study date (after being groveled at) by Axolotl.
He had a minor appearance in the minor-RP-event "Sparklemas," where he was gifted a poem and a book on Quelmar's history by Axolotl. Later that night, he confessed his feelings to her.

Melwythorne has an innate power to heal people, by specifically improving their body's natural healing ability through the power of mushrooms. They can be fired at a range, or can be done by touching the wounded area.
