Kiun Xeo is an NPC turned minor antagonist during the Fantasial Freeze. He lived from 419-467 PR.
Act 1, Fantasial Freeze[edit | edit source]
Kiun Xeo was brought into the Fantasial Freeze as a counterpoint to Xilas LaCroix. The Xeo and LaCroix families were both wealthy, and both owned lavish manors in the city of Ravel. The Xeo were the weaker of the two families, and Xilas sought Kiun's head; thus, Kiun hired heroes to defend his manor from vampire attacks by night. The PCs were successful in defending the Xeo estate, but some clever lockpicking by Red revealed they weren't squeaky clean either. No, the Xeo family were worshipping and bankrolling the actions of an Amaun-worshipping fire cult that was causing trouble in the area. Playing on Kiun's fears, the PCs convinced him to hide out in the Haven for his own protection. While Kiun was away, the Xeo manor was trashed due to a party thrown by Five.
Act 2, Fantasial Freeze[edit | edit source]
Kiun was present in the Haven when Balabag came looking to seize Manquel's territory, Bastion included. Led by Captain Maximillian, the soldiers were looking for whoever was responsible for the fire cult's actions. Kiun was turned over to Balabag and imprisoned. Sadly, Xilas found Kiun in his cell and murdered him, leading Kiun to become Blowted. He made a deal with the Bearah for power, but ended up not fighting in the Saurus Siege of Ravel. Instead, after Orbis was locked away, he spread the fire cult's influence across southern Osugbo, clashing with the Sorghum Knights and Blowt remnants.
Kiun's end came when he, accompanied by his two golems, attacked the Haven on New Years Day, PR 467. Kiun sought revenge against the players who had wrecked his manor, who saw him imprisoned, who led to his demise. Unfortunately, the heroes of the Freeze were not going to stand by and let Kiun have his way; his life was ended by a punch to the face from Gaul de Gaulle.
Abilities and Personality[edit | edit source]
Kiun was a shapeshifter/druid; he was known to transform into a gorilla in battle, and he took the form of a great fire serpent in his final battle. Being wealthy, Kiun could afford two iron golems for his personal protection, and his tactics made use of slipping out of danger so the golems could smash things.
Kiun was a headstrong figure in Ravel, a member of the aristocracy, and spoke for much of his house. He was a pious man, dedicated to his cause of choice. He also gave generously of his wealth to all who helped him, although the apocalyptic nature of the Freeze loosened his purse strings. His family survived him, and Xeo descendants look on Kiun kindly.
