Father Jakob Weber is a Weird/Priest in the Circle of Allure and Altars, and is a player character in Arc 4 of Qandela Obscura, played by Amia. He is a devout follower of The Ascendancy and one of the main founders of the religion within the new nation of Hillia.

Physical Appearance

A man on the older side of life, in his mid-40s to early-50s. He has straight-ish black hair that shows off his salt-and-pepper colors in the light, and black eyes that border on grey. His face is marred with wrinkles from age and stress. He often is found wearing vestments befitting of The Ascendancy, showing his rank as a priest.

Personality

Pious, maybe, but ultimately kind, Father Jakob gives off the implicit vibes of a dad that's maybe not YOUR dad, but will be your dad nonetheless. He lives a somewhat sedentary life filled with reading and travelling, and on the surface, seems to live by two principles - he'll enjoy life's greatest pleasures, and he'll always seemingly atone for something.

Since joining Candela, he has taken a quick liking to the ways of the Circle of Allure and Altars, and is known to be a little bit charming if it'll help. Otherwise, he is a bit of a coward.

Campaign History

7/17/2026 - "THE SHEPHERD'S CALL"

• Jakob was "called" onto the mission by Ms. Korovich, but was already in the book store when the call happened.
• A phenomenon was discovered and it took one life. It was recorded on the news
• After learning the details, he went with Vacauus to interview Ondrej Novotný for his perspective. Seven, Celestia, and Lucien went to inspect Lukas's body.
• Upon hearing of Ondrej being prone to agitation, Father Jakob invited Gleb in for assistance. Gleb did a good job of comforting Ondrej. He was a very good boy.
• Ondrej revealed some of what the Phenomena looked like, but lamented that Lukas got a closer look. It was described as a tall, thin, strong creature, with many hands and eyes as black as spiders.
• With Seven's help, they got a police sedan from the department and took it out to the scene.
• They meet a woman named Phoebe Altyr, who after some thinly veiled flirting, revealed that she was a member of the Noman National Police and hunting down a War Criminal. She is looking for Colonel Alexei Dragunov, who was an old Hillian War Criminal. Seven, Jakob, and Phoebe all exchange cards, just in case.
• When investigating the dog tracks, a man with a gun got the jump on them, aiming it at the party. His name is Hideo Wakata, and he joins the hunting party.
• As they enter the military facility, Hideo suggests that they split up to cover more ground. Celestia, Jakob, and Gleb go with Seven, while Vacauus and Lucien go with Hideo.
• Celestia, Jakob, Gleb, and Seven encounter a miasma of bleed that seems to get thinner as they get closer to a door. However, they encounter Colonel Alexei Dragunov, who takes Seven as a hostage.
• Seven is able to incapacitate the Colonel, who calls his dog. Upon inspection, the dog seems to radiate anti-bleed, and appears to be an experiment of some kind.
• Before long, the monster approaches, and everyone gets into a bloody struggle that leaves him scarred.
• They were able to destroy it, revealing the truth of Candela to Phoebe, and returning back.
