Tabaxi are a race of feline humanoids that are native to distant jungles.
Physical Description
Tabaxi are generally taller than human, typically standing around around 6 to 7 feet. Their agile bodies are covered in fur with varying patterns. In addition, tabaxi have long tails and retractable claws, and their eyes are slit-pupiled.
Tabaxi are excellent swimmers and climbers as well as speedy runners. They have a good sense of balance and an acute sense of smell.
Personality
Tabaxi are a reclusive people who often avoided interaction with other intelligent races. Despite this, cats will be cats, and each tabaxi possesses a specific feline trait. Some have an innate curiosity that eventually compels them to travel, seeking out stories, artifacts, new experiences and knowledge. They generally never remain in the same place or focus their attention of objects of desire for too long before moving on to the next adventure and new treasures.
For the most part, tabaxi do not care for riches, but they tend to have an almost obsessive interest in magical items and artifacts. Their main interest in these items stems from the curiosity about the object's stories and secrets they hold. But once a tabaxi has discovered an object's secrets, it would lose its allure and the tabaxi would quickly lose interest and move on.
And then again, some tabaxi are not motivated by curiosity to leave their homeland and find safer ways to satisfy their fleeting obsessions. Some become traveling minstrels and tinkers, often accepting interesting objects and stories as payment for their services.
Society
Tabaxi live in clans and tribes in their homeland of the far jungles.
Language
These cat-like folk have their own cat-speak that all tabaxi know. Those who adventure out tend to also know common.
