The Nine-Fingered Worm is on Elder Evil and Old One originating from the Far Realm. They are the arch rival of Primus and the scourge of Mechanus.
Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]
No one has beheld the Nine-Fingered Worm and remained sane enough to share its appearance. Depictions of the Worm drawn by its cults and worshipers are extremely abstract, showing a massive a coiling creatures with many gaping maws and nine curling fingers emerging from its head.
Personality[edit | edit source]
The Nine-Fingered Worm is a completely alien creature, desiring only to devour worlds. They are a planar predator raveling from realm to realm, devouring anything in their path. While many of its worshipers claim the Nine-Fingered Worm speaks to them, it doesn't actually possess the sort of mind that can communicate in any meaningful way. Those who manage to contact the Nine-Fingered Worm are instead shown crumbs of worlds devoured and behold terrible things that cause their mind to shatter and break.
History[edit | edit source]
For eons the Nine-Fingered Worm traveled from world to world devouring realms. They were eventually drawn to the burgeoning realm of Mechanus, bright with its shining gears and primordial guardian, Primus. Traveling through the seams between the plains the Nine-Fingered Worm and its spawn breached into Mechanus and began to attempt to devour Primus. After a long battle, Primus manage to sever the tail of the Nine-Fingered Worm which fell deep into the realms. This severed tail mutated and grew, eventually transforming into the plane of Limbo. Then from its blood were born the first Slaad. What remained of the Nine-Fingered Worm was banished back into the seems between the realms, forever to remain every hungering but and out of reach of worlds to devour.
Servents[edit | edit source]
Extensions of the None-Fingered Worm will manifest across the planes as gaping hole like mouths demanding to be filled. Nearby creatures will then become compelled to throw things into the whole, before eventually throwing in themselves in order to feed the great worm and sate its ever lasting hunger. Some of these humanoids devout their lives to the worm and seek to free it from its prison.
Many aberrant creatures such as Slaad also devout themselves to freeing the Nine-Fingered Worm.
