Boli are alchemical experiments caused by dark experimentation with the energies of Akasha. They are born of hunger and feeding, but lack a soul or a beastly form, often times looking more like mud or a dark blood.

The dark experiments that created the Boli were originally started by either Xilas LaCroix or an immediate predecessor of his, as they were born out of the Red Lab, located deep in the Underdark.
