Elizabeth Nightshade is Journalist in the Qandela Obscura campaign. She is a member of the Circle of Seekers, stationed out of the Steam, where she also lives and works.
Physical Appearance
Lizzy has blonde hair with a light natural curl to it, which is most often worn in a practical and proper bun. She is a little below average height, at 5'2", and generally wears working suits with full skirts. She has light blue eyes and is usually smiling at others.
Personality
Elizabeth genuinely cares for people and wants to do good in the world. More than that, however, she wants to demonstrate that regular everyday people can be trusted to make a positive difference in the world. She is a strong believer in the idea that people should be told of events and even magick, so that they can properly adjust their plans and their lives to its very real dangers. To that end, however, she is also ambitious. She moved to the city chasing opportunities to prove her own ability and reach out to far more people than she could do in the very small town in which she was born, high in the Bridleborn mountains.
History
Born and raised deep in the Bridleborn Mountains, Lizzy has always wanted more than what her small town could really offer. She was one of only a handful of children her own age in the place, and made close friends with Tess (who later also became an investigator for Candela Obscura).
In her late teens, she applied for admittance into the university in Newfaire, but she was rejected only after she had arrived in the city with all her things in tow in a pair of chests. But, her application mentor, Professor Lula V, informed her that her application was rejected and she had to scramble for a different place to stay and to find work to be able to stay in the city. Fortunately, she came across Zyair Adisa, editor of the Halen Star, when one of her papers blew loose and they caught it at the train station. They quickly read the page and told Lizzy to bring the rest of it by sometime. As it turned out, Mx Adisa liked the writing, and said she'd offer Lizzy a chance at the paper. And, she's found it a good fit. Mx. Adisa is a tough, but fair editor, with a sharp wit and a firm belief in telling the truth. Even if that means stepping on a few toes from powerful people. But at the same time, she's got the sense to temper just how much truth gets shared.
Lizzy started work with the Halen Star two years before she eventually found her way into connection with Candela Obscura through investigating the aftermath of the Dressed to Kill assignment. While her story on the incidents was heavily edited to the point where she no longer wanted it under her byline, it got her an introduction to one of Candela's lightkeepers, Ms. Anastasia Valencia, and a Ms. Steris Vellum, an attendant for the Fourth Pharos. Now, in addition to her work with the Star, Lizzy assists with investigations into phenomena herself. The fact she also gets a first-hand opportunity to obtain exclusive material for interviews into these events certainly doesn't hurt.

Abilities
Elizabeth is a gifted writer, and is adept at interviewing others. She is also adept at spotting things she's not supposed to or getting into places she shouldn't belong. She keeps a cool head under pressure, despite whatever the consequences for failure might be, and she's not shy with using her press credentials to get her access to people or places.
Attacks and Weapons
Elizabeth is not really a violent person and wouldn't really know what to do with a weapon such as a firearm or anything else. It also simply doesn't fit her temperament, so it's a skill she's avoided practicing.
