The Beastlands is the neutral good (but slightly chaotic) outer plane of nature unbound, of forests ranging from moss-hung mangroves to snow-laden pines, of thick jungles where the branches are woven so tight that no light penetrates, of vast plains where grains and wildflowers wave in the wind with vibrant life. The plane embodies nature's wildness and beauty, but it also speaks to the animal within all living things.

About[edit | edit source]

The Beastlands is the afterlife plane for all animal companions, and as such, affords them a life of beautiful green luxury that suits both the lazy and the excitable. While in the plane, all animals become fully sentient and capable of speech.

Humanoids are rarely ever seen in the Beastlands, at best they are temporary passer-bys, but at worst, they may be a group of unholy poachers. Of the humanoids who have decided to live here, the most common are Eladrin.

Holy Hunting Ground[edit | edit source]

In the Beastlands, all beasts will resurrect if they have been the prey to a native predator of the natural land. For example, a Beastland tiger who eats a Beastland duck will consider the hunt a game, and not a matter of life or death. Many generous animals will even offer their flesh to predators to ensure everyone stays happy and fed.

However, the friendly monotony of this peaceful animal heaven has lead to some very docile animals, both predator and prey. As such, the universe's greatest (or worst) hunters love to come to the Beastlands to pick off easy targets.

Animals who are poached or killed by non-native humanoids are permanently dead, their souls permanently discarded.

Curse of the Beast[edit | edit source]

Creatures in the Beastlands have a chance of being transformed into an animal, such as a squirrel or a horse, if they have done damage to the nature. One of the surefire ways to undo the curse of Beastial Transformations is to save the environment by practicing green habits such as recycling.

If a creature has not practiced green habits and is stuck in Beast Mode for 3 straight days, the curse becomes permanent, and can only be removed by higher magics.

Layers[edit | edit source]

Krigala[edit | edit source]

It is always morning in Krigala, the top plane.

It is known that in Krigala the souls of Beastfolk who died in Quelmar return to these pastures and spend an eternity in peace. It is also known that there is at least one marketplace where souls can find the wares of a number of merchants, both living and dead, who offer up goods for the souls to obtain, relics from the world they left behind.

Brux[edit | edit source]

It is always twilight in Brux, the middle plane.

Karasuthra[edit | edit source]

It is always midnight in Karasuthra, the bottom plane.

The Beast Lords[edit | edit source]

The Beastlands is said to be ruled by a group of demigods known as "The Beast Lords" who represent the perfect personification of animals.
