'''THE FIRST JUMP - 3/15''' |
|||
Luka's first appearance was in the session "The First Jump," where they were on a platoon with [[Cpl. Vincent "Mal" Praktesh|Vincent "Mal" Praktesh]], [[Mark Kilandro]], Aleksandr Senaviev, Jane Doe, and Roy McFinnigan. The mission they were sent on was a harrowing one, a nighttime jump into LaCroix territory to kill some sharps and possibly prevent their armor from occupying a nearby town that NoMa had their sights on. The mission was...harrowing, to say the least. Being back in deployment is not something Luka expected, however, with the light leaving beyond the horizon, so too did the light in his eyes. He was ready to become death again. However, the platoon's plans were dashed when anti-aircraft fire threatened them, causing Luka to lose his leg bag, which contained a corpseman medical kit, 2 blocks of TNT, and a Hawkins Mine, with the party scattered upon the drop. Luka was ready to hit the ground rolling...if he'd ever make it there. Instead, his chute drifted him into a pack of trees, and after he cut himself loose, it was almost like he was home, sprinting quietly through the dark to the nearest source of cover, a nearby hedgerow. Once inside, he was jumped by two NoMan soldiers, and once he was cleared, he recruited the two of them to join him at Rendezvous Point Oscar, since the two of them were forced to jump early and could no longer make it to Rendezvous Point Bravo in time for the fight. Luka began leading them through the hedgerow, eventually coming across Aleksandr, who was stuck inside. He cut him loose, and the two ribbed on each other for a bit, before meeting up with everyone at the Rendezvous Point. Their primary officer, Lavelle, ordered that their plan was to go around the town of Oldham, and blow up the bridge, preventing tanks from entering the town and threatening NoMan forces. As they went in, Luka was able to put their experience on full display, ducking between trees and smoke bombs, popping one LaCroix soldier in the leg and instantly shattering his bones, and then another three shots into a smoke cloud hit a second. However, trouble arrives when a tank comes on the horizon, threatening trouble. Luka is commanded to radio for backup, which he tries to do, but he forgets that, in the dark, his solar-powered radio doesn't work, forcing him to spend time fishing in his bag for batteries. He eventually gets a firesquad to show up, just in time for the engineers to finish their objective of planting explosives on the bridge, and as the squadron flees into the night, the ruins are left behind. |
