The Burnale Massacre

The Burnale Massacre of 467 PR occurred when Burnale Dwarves everywhere took roughly 20 damage, instantly decimating common civilian populations (who tend to have 10 or less HP) and leaving only the strongest and hardiest 4% of the Burnale clan alive. A small number of the weaker Burnales were saved by being immediately near hardy dwarves who could perform stabilizing or healing actions, but due to the sheer number, it is believed that 95% of the Burnale dwarves died on that day.

Aftermath

As a result of the smallest and weakest Burnale dwarves dying, the Burnale became defined by its hardiest, largest, and burliest members, becoming famously large in comparison to other dwarves over the centuries as they slowly grew back in number.

This explains why Reesec Burnale was 1000 pounds.
