Ordning

The Ordning is the societal caste system the holds together Giant society. It was created by The Celestials sometime in Prehistory.

Hierarchy

At it's simplest, the Ordning is a hierarchy of the six primary Giant nations of Pteris that determines which nation is the strongest. The groups on the bottom of the Ordning are seen as "lesser" by the six primary Giants, and are commonly enslaved or shunned from Giant society. Since the beginning of BR the hierarchy has been as follows:

• Storm Giants
  • Cloud Giants
    • Fire Giants
      • Frost Giants
        • Stone Giants
          • Hill Giants
            • All other Giant Species and Giant-kin races (Mist, Forest, Magma, Death, and Eldritch Giants, as well as Trolls, Ogres, and Goliath, etc.)

The Ordning was notably shattered in 524 PR by a currently unknown party. It has yet to be seen how it will reform if it reforms at all.
