The Giving is Quelmar's most widespread creation story, which tells the tales of a series of events in the prehistoric era during which the gods of Quelmar competed with each other over who could bless the worldly plane with the most gifts. This competition is said to have resulted in the existence of Quelmar as we know it today.

Following the birth of the multiverse out of the material plane, a competition started among the gods. It was a battle of generosity, during which the gods of Quelmar showered the material plane with a multitude of creations and events, which spanned over many millennia. Like much of prehistory, little is actually known about whether or not The Giving is a legend or a real part of the creation of Quelmar.
