Between Now and then
Born out from the south soffit; they were taught how to swindle, cheat, and steal from a young age. Once they learned how to scam people from their mentor, they set out every two years to scam people from different districts. their last scam was one of religious nature, he would go around the shriveline and say he is a Diviner, one with the knowledge of the future, hidden truths, and spiritual matters. They used their sense of intuition and their ability to read people so well to continue doing this gig for more than two years.
Forgoing their usual plan of changing gigs, they began to catch some unwanted attention from none other than Gabriella Cross. Gabriella was a young woman from a religious family, or so Jamie thought.
She caught wind of Jamie's divination ability when she witnessed it happen to a friend of hers. She confronted Jamie, wanting to help their divination business, believing it to be true and helpful!
She provided clientele to Jamie like never before, their charge per divination rose as their name was known. Jamie and Ella’s relationship grew, and with it the guilt of having to lie to her about their powers.
Gabriella’s family were against such relationship and such animosity grew between jamie and Cornelius Cross and that acclimated in a final showdown. Where Cornelius Cross sent for Jamie to tell them that Gabi is in danger and they must come NOW. Jamie frazzled and fearing for Ellas life goes to the Cross Manor to find her save and sound, but in bondage as Cornelius orders the guards to apprehend Jamie, and hurt them a bit.
He tells Jamie to tell the truth. Or she will suffer, raising his hand towards Gabriella. He does tell the truth, but surprise! Gabriella been knew!. And she laughs.

After that, Jamie remembers pain, as the guard wails on them, and Ella walking away; with a threat to stop or they will actually finish it next time.
Jamie stops calling himself a diviner. He set out to be a detective to figure out who Ella is and why WHY. Still works as a detective, but got in touch with Candela after they heard of him.
Jaime… dies, tragic. They died to save a priest though, they would argue that's more tragic. They died thinking they messed up, thinking they should have ran away.
