Draft, otherwise known as Cali Chrome, is a 17-year old High School Student in New Synàra. They are a Legacy-Playbook in Sunlight Over New Synàra, played by Amia.
Physical Appearance
Basic Appearance
Female, androgynous presenting. Fair skin, thin and tight features. Black, voluminous hair in a side comb-over, not an undercut, with a yellowish-blond peekaboo dye job. It looks a little bit like a mane if not properly styled.
Civilian Outfit
Trendy/comfortable clothing, leaning more into the latter. Wears lots of athleisure clothing with a trendy spark to it in the form of brands, graphics, and accents.
Hero Suit
Modern/predecessor's costume, leaning more into the former. A black compression suit with yellow accents, sleeveless, and a black and yellow tracksuit (the jacket is civilian clothes.) They wear custom sneakers, black compression gloves, and pilot goggles that they can slap over their eyes to prevent dry-eye. There are ear-clips to prevent wind resistance from their extremities that are shaped similarly to the ears of horses. Draft has been known to slip headphones underneath the clips, despite the danger. Their suit has the insignia of their legacy, but it is not specific to Draft in any way.
Personality
Draft's personality, in two quick words, is reckless and a dirtbag, due to the circumstances in which they live life. Being a well-known recruit to Team Flash Dash, Draft does not have any sort of secret identity, and it is well-known that Draft and Cali Chrome are one of the same. Due to this (and a lack of media training), Draft fails to see some of the worst-case scenarios that come from being associated with a superhero, which translates into the general way they tend to live life. Being 17, they're immature, and in a position of power WAY above their development, trying to reclaim any bit of their normal teenage life wherever they can.
History
Any mention of Team Sunlight Savers has been bolded, as it is a placeholder name made by Amia, until the team gets its actual name.
Cali officially became part of the legacy when they first started high school, as is tradition for Team Flash Dash - they scout speedsters, and they recruit them. They did not go public at that time, that was when they just started formal training, and were placed on Team Sunlight Savers once Blitzen felt that they were equipped enough to deal with formal threats. Cali was ecstatic to have been chosen for Team Flash Dash, due to their reputation for having saved entire cities with the power of super speed, including their home city of Avilas when a flash flood happened. Ever since this, Team Flash Dash, even among their failures, has had a strong, pseudo-cult following that rallies for them through thick and thin, almost like people root for their favorite racehorses and bet on them. It's this sense of public perception that drew Cali to Team Flash Dash - ever since they realized they had powers, it's been SO hard to keep them constrained! They have yet to fully come around to the idea of doing good, but for right now, being famous is good enough, especially when they go hand in hand. Though she is hesitant to reveal her true reasoning for becoming a hero to Team Sunlight Savers, she cares deeply about them, because the success of Team Sunlight Savers directly correlates to her success on Team Flash Dash.
Relationships
Blitzen (Pro Hero, Team Flash Dash)
Blitzen is an active hero in Avilas, and the main leader of Team Flash Dash. They share Draft's powers of Super-Speed, but contain the whole suite of powers, allowing them to actually use them safely and efficiently. They're an all-American type, who focuses on publicity and humanitarian aid with a side gig of Christmas specials. Draft treats them with an unprecedented amount of reverence, since they ultimately have the final say on whether or not Draft makes it onto Team Flash Dash.
Blitzen currently has Influence over Draft.
Lesion (Retired Hero, Team Flash Dash)
Lesion is a retired hero that swaps between Avilas and New Synàra, and Draft's mentor in their Practical Trials They are one of the more esoteric members of Team Flash Dash, but undoubtedly fits the theme of having a "speed-based power" with their power of Hyper-Regeneration. Their last endeavor as a Pro Hero involved getting Draft accustomed to patrolling, where they were baited by Balancing Act and brutally beaten up. Lesion's powers were reduced, significantly affecting their fighting style, where they strictly judge Draft from the sidelines.
Lesion currently has Influence over Draft.
Shogi (Hero Recruit, Team Flash Dash)
Shogi is a hero recruit to Team Flash Dash alongside Draft, and is currently doing their Practical Trials with a different team based in Avilas, with the powers of Hyper-IQ and Air Manipulation. Deep down, both Draft and Shogi are able to recognize that they can both make it into Team Flash Dash if they pass the Trial, and they can also recognize that they can both be cut from the team if they fail to meet the standards. This, however, does not stop them from having an incredibly competitive rivalry with each other to see who can be a better fit for Team Flash Dash, a rivalry that, despite being filled with vitriol, is ultimately rooted in friendship.
Lifeline II (New Hero, Team Sunlight Savers)
Lifeline II is a new hero that is part of Team Sunlight Savers alongside Draft, and is played by Matt. He is a Janus-Playbook.
Both of them take their hero work deeply seriously, and yet, Lifeline II and Draft couldn't have ideals that are further apart from each other, resulting in a pseudo "Don't Meet Your Idols" relationship between the two of them. Draft has been trying, to no avail, to get Lifeline to open up about their secret identity (Something that Lifeline II refuses to do), while Lifeline II worries that if Draft finds out about the truth of their heroic origins, they will be regarded as a fraudulent hero by her due to her position as a Legacy.
Lifeline II and Draft currently have Influence over each other.
White Whale (New Hero, Team Sunlight Savers)
White Whale is a new hero that is part of Team Sunlight Savers alongside Draft, and is played by Dice. He is a Scion-Playbook.
White Whale and Draft could not have more different opinions of each other, which is to say, White Whale has many more opinions of Draft than she does of him. Being the son of the renowned villain Balancing Act, who in the past has pummeled Draft in hand-to-hand combat, White Whale feels a constant need to atone for their father's actions. Draft, on the other hand, does not know about this connection, and only found out that White Whale was even tangentially related to Balancing Act after it was revealed by Aerokrys that White Whale used Balancing Act's technology to fight. Draft thinks this is cool as @#!%.
White Whale and Draft currently have Influence over each other.
[JEN - DOOM] (New Hero, Team Sunlight Savers)
[ONCE CHARACTER DETAILS HAVE BEEN FINALIZED, THIS BOX WILL BE PUBLISHED]
[JEN - DOOM] currently has Influence over Draft.
Sucker Punch (Villain, Unaligned)
Sucker Punch is the main villain of Team Flash Dash, a somewhat unserious villain who claims to have Super-Strength, which is actually a front for having Super-Speed and knowledge of basic physics. He used to be a member of Team Flash Dash, but the reasons for his departure are unknown by Draft. Draft does, however, know of his former team-member status, a secret that she has been asked to take to her grave. She told Lifeline II about this less than a week later in an attempt to get Lifeline II to open up.
Powers and Abilities
Draft has all the makings of a classic Speedster-type superhero, with Super Speed, Speed Learning/Reading, and the ability to Phase Through Walls. Despite having multiple powers that allow Draft to move quickly and with great efficiency, both in hero and civilian life, they have none of the powers that allow them to use them SAFELY, often resulting in severe wind burns across their body as they try to run at hyper speeds, or a squirrely temperament due to being bored in school.
