Dragonkin were a precursor race to the Dragonborn, Draconians, Wyvernborn, and Kobolds. Children of Bahamut, they were brought to the realm in prehistoric times from Arborea as his chosen people.
Because they were created in Bahamut's image, Dragonkin only exist in metallic form. However, corrupted Dragonkin in chromatic form eventually rose to prominence in the realm, calling themselves Draconians.
In combat, Dragonkin prefer to fight in the air, where their wings put them at an advantage over most other contemporary creatures.
Dragonkin were all but extinct by the beginning of written history in the year 1 BR, but reports of beings resembling Dragonkin were recorded for a brief time in the year 825 BR.
