Arborea, sometimes called The Arboreal Star, or just The North Star, is the chaotic good outer plane of freedom and plenty. Full of beauty and splendor, every possible indulgence can be found in Arborea, enough to keep you busy for all eternity. However, as the native Bacchae souls of the plane show, there can be too much of a good thing.

About[edit | edit source]

Arborea is typically the final resting places for high elves.

Creatures non-native to Arborea who stumble across it must leave quickly, or succumb to supreme feelings of yearning, which prevent them from leaving, and may ultimate turn them into one of the Bacchae.

Layers[edit | edit source]

Arvandor[edit | edit source]

Arvandor is the apex of Arborea, nestled among well trimmed forests, yards of topiaries, and set against the backdrop of massive mountains and clear streams. It is here in Arvandor that the Seldarine gather. A group consisting of fey gods and demigods who watch over all that is beautiful.

Within the confines of the Seldarine lay the High Courts, a high society of pure-blooded and ancient fey who consort both with the gods above and the mortals below. These middlemen (or middlefey) rarely appear before non-elven mortals, but when they do, it is likely on behalf of Corellon or another archfey.

Olympia[edit | edit source]

The other half of Arborea is known as Olympia, and consists of every beautiful ideology in Arvandor, but with a far less racially-charged group of powers. Visually, Olympia could be discerned from Arvandor due to its heavy usage of Marble stone, which formed the basis of every structure in Olympia, creating blindingly white temples and towns that glistened with a holy flair. A sect of demi-gods known as "The Olympic Gods" reside in the massive mountains of Olympia.

Pelion[edit | edit source]

Lands not claimed by Olympia or Arborea fall under the plane of Pelion, and are often the remnants of previous elven or olympic territory, possibly abandoned or destroyed in combat. Pelion is the favorite plane of the Bacchae, who love to wander unperturbed by greater powers. The goddess Sharess had an abandoned temple in Pelion deep inside a massive tree trunk.

Notable Inhabitants[edit | edit source]

Deities[edit | edit source]

  • Corellon, elven god of beauty, art, and music
  • Sharess, goddess of pleasures
  • Nobanion, demigod of beasts, pride, and royalty

Bacchae[edit | edit source]

Bacchae (pronounced Bock-aye) are souls that passed away after living full lives of hedonism. In their own perfect afterlife, the Bacchae become traveling nomads who sleep, eat, and indulge on every pleasure they can be afforded. The Bacchae are led by an exarch named Dionysus, who prides in his title as "King of the Bacchae".
