The Quelmar Wiki

Conjured into creation from the voids that lay between the demiplanes of the Beastlands, with a dash of Pandemonium, the Deck of Wild Things is a legendary artifact by the great amateur artificer Maurisen Dak.

History

Maurisen Dak was born in another world, a sprog birthed among the fields of Krigala. How his parents came to be in the Beastlands remains in question, but having grown up among the beasts of the Holy Hunting Grounds, Maurisen was enamored with druidic magics and the harmony that came with the peaceful, forgiving, ecosystems of Krigala.

However, ripped from the Beastlands during a failed instance of "Conjure Animal", cast on the material plane by a practicing wizard, Maurisen was ripped from his family, his friends, and forced to live among mortals in the scariest plane of them all: The Quelmar Realm.

Legends say that the Deck of Wild Things was Maurisen's attempts to return himself to the wilds from whence he came. Maurisen "hacked" his project off an existing deck, a bootleg deck he bought from a shop in Dolmvay labeled "Deck of Many Things". Luckily for Maurisen, this deck was a rip off, and every card drawn merely summoned a little bear.

But even that was enough for Maurisen's plans. Having self taught himself artificing, he believed he could reverse the conjuration magic of the Little Bear Card and send himself to where he believed the bears were summoned from.

However, Maurisen's deck plans went wildly awry.

About

When drawing a card from the Deck of Wild Things, the conjurer summons 1d7 Little Monsters (Little Monsters take the stats of Yeti Tykes) to the immediate area, randomly arriving in a space no more than 30 feet from the summoner.

The creature who summons the monsters has no ability to control them, and for all practical purposes, they are considered wild things. After 1 minute, the monsters are de-summoned, and return to where the wild things go, presumably The Beastlands.

Behind the Screen

This deck is inspired by the Deck of Silly Things and the Deck of Wild Magic which are in turn inspired by the decks created by BJ Hypes and u/iCeParadox64.
