Gearguage was a major city in Isonhound and one of the first cities to be founded by and inhabited by warforged. The relatively barren terrain in the northwestern corner of the continent had long been uninhabited by organic peoples, and in the years leading up to the War of the Forged, it would come to serve as a haven for warforged and other synthetic people, whose ability to go without food made it possible to keep the remote area supplied with what little they would need to live in relative safety from hostile organic groups.
As the numbers of warforged in Isonhound increased in the 710s and 720s PR, their presence became a hot topic in communities large and small. Not sure what to make of this unfamiliar group, many allowed themselves to be swept up in a wave of xenophobic rhetoric, and soon calls for measures to protect against the warforged menace turned into calls for expulsion and violence. Gearguage didn't yet have a name, but the warforged Bones became the de facto leader of the community that would eventually grow into the largest population center in northern Woldlin.
