Kender (also known as Barrel Children) are one of Quelmar's ancient races. They share qualities of Dwarves, Halfings, and Gnomes.
About
The first Kender were said to have come from the crossing of Gnomes and Halflings, leading to a race of creatures as mischievous as a gnome, but as simple and generous as Halflings. Kender also develop a characteristic Dwarven greediness. Many Kender are defined by their kleptomancy, while others claim the mysterious items that appear in their pockets have magically appeared out of nowhere.
Some scholars consider the Kender as a subrace of either of its parent races, due to their physical similarities, but others disagree, comparing the timeline of Kender development to the millenia long evolution of other races such as the Lizardfolk from the Pterran.
