Post-Reckoning Pomarine is Quelmar's largest living-history museum and PR-recreation town.

History

Before it became Post-Reckoning Pomarine (or PR Pom for short), it was just Pomarine, a small town established on a fertile stretch of land in the early PR era. It was primarily an agricultural town, famous for coming up with new and innovative ways to improve their farming methods with magic. They exported a great deal of food to the rest of the region, and certain unique crops to other continents. When the Fracturing of the Weave occurred, however, and the magic systems of the town failed, it quickly became a ghost town with just a few families remaining. In the late 20s, several community leaders from Pomarine and nearby towns began to advocate for restoration efforts, and in the early 30s, these efforts began in earnest. The town was officially reopened as a living history museum in 45 CR.

There are roughly two dozen full-time residents in the town; most of the "residents" are actually paid actors and specialists. As the years have gone and technology has developed, the town has found more and more ways to use technology to recreate the amazing magical effects the town was known for. It is now an officially designated national landmark, and one of the most popular fieldtrip and tourist destinations in Amusa.

Notable Places

  • The Pom Farm Museum: there are many farms you can visit in PR Pom, but the Farm Museum is the biggest, most educational, and most touristy. It teaches classes on farming, leads dozens of seasonal activities, and of course, produces a wide variety of crops and livestock.
  • The Bottleborn Brewery: the most popular bar, where you can learn about how beer was brewed in the early PR era. Supposedly run by the "Bottleborn" family, although rumor has it that the last one died years ago and everyone since has just taken the name.
  • Artisan Square: there are dozens of craftspeople and artisans in PR Pom - glassblowers, weavers, woodcarvers, and of course, blacksmiths. You can find most of them in Artisan Square and easily spend a whole afternoon watching these masters at work and perusing their wares.

Notable Events

In 110 CR, a group of children got separated from their group on a field trip. Mischief ensued.
