Endine "Dina" di Valpadana is a druid of the Valpadana, nomadic circle that has adapted to the new landscape of Hellmar, focusing on survival by avoiding the legions of Asmodeus.
Physical Appearance
Dina appears to be a short elf, about 4 ft tall. Her bright white hair and horns are hidden by a wide brimmed black hat. She has violet skin covered by a long black cloak and wears an onyx clasp in the shape of a bat, the symbol of the Valpadana. When she panics, she sometimes manifests angelic wings, which, like her hair, are a product of a celestial ancestor.
Personality
Dina is unassertive and reserved. In general, she does not like to draw attention to herself. For those that have fought with her and earned her trust, she becomes more animated and open.
History
Dina is a member of a nomadic circle of druids that has adapted to the new landscape of Hellmar, the Valpadana. They took her in and taught her how to find natural magic in the corruption wrought by Asmodeus. Many of the Valpadana focus on survival in this world and avoiding the legions of Asmodeus. They hide in the corrupted forests that were once Isonhound. Dina is of a new generation that does not know life before Hellmar.
She is part of a small resistance that uses her power to cause chaos in the ranks of Asmodeus’s devils that control this apocalyptic land. This resistance began when Iano, her best friend, was captured and imprisoned by Curia, one of the lieutenants of Asmodeus. As the Valpadana had been growing but remained out of her grasp, Curia wanted to use Iano to determine how to bring them under her control. Dina gathered her two other friends, Iseo and Idro, and infiltrated Curia’s stronghold. Using their druidic magic, they were able to find Iano and break him out. After this initial success, they continued to covertly undermine Curia, releasing prisoners and disrupting plans. This started with keeping their circle safe but eventually expanded to helping others suffering under Asmodeus. Eventually word of their adventures traveled to other parts of Hellmar, and they took on the name Hellmar resistance, gaining support among survivors.
However, their streak of good luck had to end eventually. On one mission, the four were caught trying to spread false information to set back years of magical research on a new way to track the Valpadana. They were able to destroy the research, but in the process were caught and forced to fight devils in Curia’s army. While they had fought survivors and infernal creatures before, the resistance had never gone up against anyone in the army directly. Immediately panicking, Dina fled and escaped by luck while her friends were caught. Gabriel found her and offered his protection in exchange for service. Only once she was safe did she have the chance to process what she had done. She fears her choice has hurt her friends and her family and can only hope that they survived.
