PROSPECTIVE ANALYSIS FILE[edit | edit source]

Subject: Charlotte Kern

Designation: Muscle / All-Star

Location of Observation: Camp Everlight – Seasonal Youth Initiative

Age: 17

Compiled by: Investigative Clerk E. J. Rowe, Observational Liaison Unit –

Behavioral Review & Candidate Development Archive

Filed: 87 CR

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION[edit | edit source]

Charlotte Kern presents as a seventeen-year-old human female of above average height (approx 5'7") with a pale complexion and dark brown hair, often styled in a loose low ponytail or bun with face-framing pieces.

Eyes: Dark brown, looks like a Zircon stone under direct light.

Posture: Straight, passively strong, exuberant.

Subject dresses in very comfortable attire, and is often found wearing a tracksuit with an athletic t-shirt. In warmer weather, they often wear oversized shirts and basketball shorts. They are always seen wearing a golden cross around their neck.

Charlotte's facial expressions are, for lack of a better term, revealing. They do not hide any emotions under their skin, if she is happy, sad, scared, or guilty, it is evident.

KNOWN BLEED EXPOSURE[edit | edit source]

Subject is confirmed to have been exposed to Bleed on multiple occasions.

INCIDENT 1: Subject was attacked by a Possessed. They were pushed down the stairs, and broke their ankle. The possessed, Dino De La Cruz, is also under observation.

INCIDENT 2: Subject encountered an Entrapment. The Entrapped, Danny Jones, is confirmed to be deceased after exposure to Bleed.

INCIDENT 3: Subject is confirmed to have a B.R.O (Bleed-Reactive Object) in their possession, a piece of sheet music written by Danny Jones.

INCIDENT 4: Subject is confirmed to have suffered bodily harm from the Pale Grove, recorded on June 12, 87 CR in the late hours of the evening. Notably, they seemed to come under this injury by trying to prevent subject Dino De La Cruz from being overly injured by Bleed.

Subject has no recorded physical manifestations.

Routine Everlight medical examinations (including aura screening) report no abnormalities.

Candidate remains unmarked.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE[edit | edit source]

Compiled from a psychological interview with Charlotte Kern upon intake into Fairefield Medical Center on March 4, 87 CR, as well as counselor interviews and study of peer interactions.

General Disposition:

Extroverted, but emotional and headstrong. Displays a heightened sense of justice, and an immense level of stubbornness and willpower that works cyclically. Employs a strong wit and headstrong, almost ignorant, social measures to do what they believe is right, refusing to believe otherwise, unless it is forced into them by Dino De La Cruz. Highly adaptive to new social environments, but does not often take a leadership role therewithin.

Underlying Assessment:

Control-oriented behavior patterns are evident. Reports of wanting to "keep everyone safe" (in Subject's words) have been lodged again and again, suggesting deep, underlying paranoia underneath a normally cheerful surface. Exhibits minor anxiety responses when someone gets hurt.

Subject additionally feigns major anxiety when faced with phenomena. Subject claims to be afraid of it, and not believe in phenomena, despite having an introductory awareness to the basics of bleed.

Cognitive Indicators:

Below-average intelligence. Exceptional situational awareness, but subpar verbal acuity. Incapable of subtlety when it comes to group outcomes, but displays a great amount of strength to cover this flaw. Minor outrage responses shown to confrontation or perceived failure.

A transcript to the full intake interview can be found here.

CONCERNING INJURY - INTERNAL NOTE[edit | edit source]

Subject's ankle appears to be almost permanently broken, after exposure to Bleed. Despite being cleared to use it again, there appear to be small microfractures within the ankle that threaten to break it again. Incredibly lackadaisical with their injuries. Displays risky behavior that jeopardizes their health, sanity, and preservation in the face of Bleed.

Given that the subject's was ankle was broken in exposure to Bleed, it has been kept under careful watch at the Fairefield Medical Center, for a conservative amount of time.

Aura screening has not revealed Bleed interference with Charlotte's ankle, however, it cannot be fully ruled out.

RELATIONAL OBSERVATIONS[edit | edit source]

Peers: Overly friendly with peers, even if it's not reciprocated. Maintains a high standing in cabin hierarchy, largely through strength and intimidation. Occasionally takes rash action during stress. Does not easily form allies, but allies formed are hard to lose.

Counselors: Very familiar with counselors, despite not knowing much about them. Seeks approval through athletic feats, and fears admonishment from them.

Notable Connections: Expressed repeated interest in hanging out with Dino De La Cruz, likely due to their shared past.

FINAL ANALYSIS[edit | edit source]

Charlotte Kern displays some potential for Candela's Muscle-class training and brute force operations. Her capacity for drive, willpower, and general fitness and strength marks her as a potential future recruit.

However, her psychological profile, nuanced medical history, and multiple exposures to Bleed innately compromise her stability. Candela's structure could work to improve her ability to perform in the field, but taking her on would be an innate risk. Without intervention, it could worsen her condition, at best, and result in her death, at worst.

Recommendation:

  • Maintain annual observation via Camp Everlight program.
  • Continue covert observation of Charlotte's wounds and mental stability
  • Reassess for recruitment eligibility after time or other notable events.

[Anna do you want to write a note from Nathaniel Ashcroft for me, if you'd permit it? I don't want to act out of character.]

Below lies Observational Logs of Charlotte Kern, taken from a variety of sources of Camp Everlight as part of the Everlight Seasonal Youth Initiative. The following logs are specifically of the subject. For a more detailed description of all the prospective subjects, see Qamp Candela/The Story So Far.[edit | edit source]

OBSERVATION LOG - JUNE 12, 87 CR[edit | edit source]

Subject was observed at Camp Everlight sneaking into Nathaniel Ashcroft's office in order to find the reasoning behind his melancholy mood, discovering their files as part of the Seasoned Youth Initiative. They regrouped with eight of the nine members of the program, those being Dino De La Cruz, Malakai Noire, Katherine Wallace, Andie Foster, Vivian Vance, Garnet Karson, and Stella Whitmore. Realizing Nathaniel Ashcroft's dangerous disappearance, the first seven ventured out into the forest to find him, discovering a Pale Grove. Though some harm was sustained by them, the subject was able to destroy the creaking, and used a medicinal salve from Garnet Karson in order to stabilize Nathaniel Ashcroft. Subject has noted few objections to being unofficially inducted into Candela Obscura ahead of schedule from the Seasoned Youth Initiative.

OBSERVATION NOTES - JUNE 13 - ??? , 87 CR[edit | edit source]

Subject attempted to interact with fellow campmates after the events of the previous night. Noted that subject is incredibly bad at lying. (Log Date: 8-13-87)

Subject noted a willingness to quote-on-quote "carry the team on their back or some shit like that." (Log Date: 8-13-87)
