Somedays later, a party with Marianne and Heiress Luanach returned and they looked brutalized. The only thing I could think to offer was some of Cellica's tea for calming the nerves. The two seemed to appreciate the gesture, and I delivered it to them in the tent of the Court of Seasons. I hope that whatever they faced out there to cause such damage, stays far away from our camp. | Somedays later, a party with Marianne and Heiress Luanach returned and they looked brutalized. The day after that, I received an invitation I could not turn down. Amaris Luanach had come to me on the recommendation of Lambda. Apparently, a mail ship had made the run and those who had not heard from the outside world in four months finally had some news. Hers was not good, or so her thoughts are. Apparently, the writing and seals are from her court, but the cardstock is of the Duskvale. A rival court within the fey domain. Lambda and myself both seemed to surmise that something was wrong, and that her going alone might not be the greatest of ideas. Being able to understand what's going on at the table also helps. My Ghost Regiment stands ready to serve as guard on this mission, and I am honestly honored and flattered to be asked to join her. First, she needs to send a message to her fiance to ensure that everyone is not simply dead. I pray that not to be the case, and that it is merely a hostile occupation for the time being. | ||
Something else interesting happened following the return of Marianne and Amaris Luanach. Marianne came to my tent, wanting to talk it seemed. I was somewhat taken aback by her visit, not entirely sure what she was stopping by for, but it soon became clear that she had a lot on her mind. From Lambda's issue to her most recent nightmares, we discussed everything. She brought up something that I suppose Lambda had not been ready to tell me. His emotional crystal was apparently completely blackened due to his recent ordeal. Now, this had not been the first time that I had seen an emotional crystal with blackened elements. Iota had been recovered from the Crusades with black swirls moving around it. While at first, Troverthian command was completely unaware of what this meant, it became clear when we watched through his memories. The moment the black colors entered his crystal, Iota was cleaved in half by of the dragonborn soldiers. The fear of knowing that this is the end, that the possibility of them dying in this spot is very high, that's what went through Iota's mind the moment the black color entered Iota's crystal. It took some time, but we worked him through that fear, but Lambda's being completely black, well, it was cause for concern. I am not sure he will every fully recover, but Marianne can never know that. I told her that with some help, Lambda can eventually return to his normal self. Only time will tell really. But she also came over to accept an offer I had made some time before, meeting Cellica properly. I was happy to oblige, and their meeting was almost magical. Marianne was caught in almost child-like wonder when Cellica first appeared, but then again, so was I. To see someone manifest themselves in holy light and talk, to you, touch you, it truly is something sensational. Well their conversation started out as a series of questions and answers, each trying to learn more about the other. Eventually, Cellica asked if Marianne was feeling alright, as she looked rather tired. Marianne broke down a bit, letting weeks of pent up emotion flow. She told Cellica of her dreams, her struggles, what happened on her missions. Cellica hung on her every word, and gave her what comfort she could, both as a mother figure and as a friend. It seemed to comfort the young tiefling, which brought a smile to my face. Well at least she's willing to show her kindness and love to everyone. And I'm glad Marianne now knows that my wife is another person they are able to turn to when things get tough, which I very much expect will happen. | Something else interesting happened following the return of Marianne and Amaris Luanach.
