Purple Dragons are Quelmar's unique and iconic race of dragons, and a defining feature of the realm itself.

Some confuse Purple Dragons as members of the Chromatic Dragon family. This is a common misconception, but purple doesn't actually exist as a color in the world. It is instead an illusion in the brains and souls of mortals when they perceive the beginning and the end of the visible light spectrum at the same time.
The Purple Dragons likewise materialize as extensions of reality itself intersecting across time and space.
Notable Purple Dragons[edit | edit source]
- Chronepsis, perhaps the original source of Purple Dragons
- Ulhm
- A young purple dragon who existed to guard the temporal keys that allow entrance to some of Quelmar's Mysterious Architecture, locations that dance across time and space itself.
- It is believed that Ulhm created a pocket dimension for himself to live comfortably outside of time and space, giving creation to the demiplane of Thaer
