Syvis Daran is a Snow Elf sorceress hailing from Breme.

Physical Appearance

Syvis is a shortish-medium and slender Elf with white hair and teal eyes. Like all elves, she has distinct pointed ears, and to humans she is seen as hauntingly beautiful and graceful due to their unearthly appearance. In terms of clothing, Syvis and other Bremish Snow Elves trade away the fine clothing of their Elvish brethren found in warmer climates in favor of more practical clothing. This is mainly layered and fur clothing obtained from hunting the various animals of Breme, and Bremish Snow Elf clothing is a common trade item for humans and other humanoids needing apparel to survive in the harsh environment of Breme.

Personality

Syvis's personality is that of a quiet and curious soul. Unlike her sister, Vasati who is more daring and social, Syvis prefers just to quietly sit back and listen rather than really socialize. Syvis is the kind of person who would rather read a book than join her sister in some hunting raid or trip to the Bremeland holdings.

History

Bremish Snow Elves have inhabited various villages dotting Breme for centuries when Elves traveled across the Viridant Sea following the arrival of Elves to Quelmar. Scholars do not know why Elvish people would travel all the way to the far northern reaches of Quelmar. Some speculate that this migration was the result of the Planar Wars, causing some Elves in Isonhound to flee away from conflicts to a corner of the world that the war would not reach. Syvis and her family are the supposed descendants of these refugees, who grew accustomed to the harsh Arctic climate, making them the first true humanoid inhabitants of Breme before the arrival of humans proper. Syvis was born in one of the many Elvish villages that dot Breme. Her village in particular is situated on the coast leaving it more exposed to human explorers and traders. Her father was a prominent warrior in the village community and her mother is a healer, using traditional magic to help with healing sicknesses and injuries. Her older sister, Vasati, is a prominent warrior as well, following in their father's footsteps to defend the community and provide for it.

Syvis though was special in a unique way. Though she is not physically strong like Vasati, she has magic flowing directly through her blood. Sorcerers in Bremish Elven society are somewhat rare. Most magic users in Breme utilize traditional written spells like most other Elvish wizards or obtaining spells from traveling Bremish humans or visitors to Breme. Sorcerers though are hailed as something from the Divine in Bremish Elven society, sent by the Gods when the people of Breme are under threat from a force of evil, and to the people of Breme as a whole that evil was Vilavon. Vilavon's borderline genocidal invasion of Breme hit not just the Bremelands. Vilavon soldiers have raided and attacked various Bremish Elven villages across their invasion path and the coast. Many of the tribes have united with each other and/or allied with the Bremelands to oppose Vilavon's invasion or simply to just defend themselves from Vilavon attacks. Syvis herself bore witness to a Vilavon raid as a small child, in which her father was severely injured. Though he still continues to be a leading figure in the village, his injuries made it difficult for him to fight. Syvis's sister Vasati would go on to train as a warrior herself, ensuring that a Daran would always be there to defend the village.

Syvis herself would spend time during this period learning how to control her magic, and use it to the betterment of her community, in its potential defense, and, as the priests mention constantly, lead the Bremish Elves to chase off Vilavon. As a sorcerer, magic comes naturally to her, though the attention she has gained as a "divinely touched" sorceress is something she personally does not desire. Yet, she continues to practice her magic to help her family and her people in any way she can.

Languages

Syvis is fluent in Elvish, the common language of her people, yet trade between her village and that of human settlements in Breme as well as the occasional trader has made her versed in Common and Bremish as well.

Powers and Abilities

As a sorceress, Syvis has a natural attunement to magic. Mana flows through her veins as freely as her blood. She uses her magical ability to do various magical feats and attacks. Most of them are ice/water based in nature, with an occasional fire ability thrown in to the mix.

As a Bremish Snow Elf, Syvis and her people are well adjusted to the harsh arctic climates of Breme. Cold weather does not affect Bremish Elves as much as the neighboring humans, meaning that Bremish Elves can survive even in the coldest areas of Breme easier than any other humanoid species.

Attacks and Weapons 

As mentioned before, Syvis's prefered magical attacks are ice/water based. Ice rays, ice shards, waves of freezing water, etc. are all common moves utilized by Syvis in combat situations.
