Volrac was abandoned at a monastery as a child, never knowing his birth parents. As one of few dragonborn within the temple Volrac was often bullied for his appearance. The other acolytes would often mercilessly beat him between lessons and call him names, but eventually Volrac reached a tipping point. Due to his ancestry Volrac matured at a much faster rate than his fellow students, and once he reached adulthood at 15 he towered over the others. One unfortunate day, the other students locked him in the barracks and proceeded to beat the snot out of him. 7 of the student piled over him and proceeded to pummel him with flurries of attacks, and as Volrac choked on his own blood and two of his front teeth a spark ignited within him. A massive roar could be heard from throughout the monastery as Volrac unleashed a flame unlike any before upon the other students brutally maiming them all.

While Volrac had harmed others before in his sparring this was the first time he had retaliated and won in self defense, and rather than being haunted by the use of violence he reveled in it. Seeing his enemies wince in pain and look upon him in fear brought him great joy. Due to his lack of newfound lack of remorse for others and egregious destruction of campus property Volrac was expelled from the monastery, with his masters hoping his time away would bring him some form of peace or enlightenment.

All alone with no money to his name, Volrac found new found purpose within the pit fighting circuit where he could put his savagery to use and learn how to hone his newfound draconic ki. Volrac was able to rise in notoriety across fighting pits and with time he was able to replace his missing fangs with golden teeth. His unique fighting style and  vicious maw soon led to him gaining the title the Crimson Fang.

Given he was profiled for his draconic likeliness previously, Volrac has begun to fully embrace the lifestyle of dragons and has dedicated himself to developing his own horde by amassing wealth and artifacts. Volrac's savagery has extended beyond gladiatorial battles, as he he has now found himself amongst other adventurers to bring himself more gold and notoriety he could ever dream of.
