Blue Dragons are a type of chromatic dragon found around Quelmar after the unlocking of Kiston around 200 BR.

Blue dragons have a bit of lawfulness to them, though many consider themselves far from lawful good. Though they have been known to become more vicious under territorial circumstances, especially against creatures who infiltrate their draconic lairs.
Blue dragons breathe a form of lightning, and in the late PR era, it was discovered that the glands they use to generate these sparks could be harvested into a primeval form of electricity known as Caeruleam.
Notable Blue Dragons[edit | edit source]
- Azuspear
- A blue dragon that emerged at the beginning of The War of Many Names who took up harbor near the city of Deeplake in the ruins at Ethinok.
- Azuspear was driven out of her lair by a Behir but returned 3 months later after adventurers of the Greedy Green killed the Behir and cleared it out.
- Azuspear was eventually cornered by a delirious Echemus, a crystal dragon of the moon, and after a maddening discussion, was killed by the Crystal creature, leaving her kids to hide and plot their revenge.
- "My children, whether born to me or chosen by me, are treasures"
- Favored gemstones and silken textiles for her lair, owned a glass bell that sounds like a storm.

- One of The Ten Heralds of Tiamat, famously slain by Xandra Pleth
- Skertren
- An ancient blue dragon who survived the end of The Holy War by being trapped inside of a seemingly sentient dagger.
