Echemus

Echemus, in a state of "Moon Madness" fights away at Lunarans, Players, and Lindwurms with no distinction.

Echemus is the Crystal Moon Child Dragon son of Eros, and the ascended son who took his father's post in the reunited ruby court of Sardior.

About

For decades, if not centuries, Echemus operated under a polymorphed appearance of a Lunaran priest, only truly revealing himself publically for the first time after Drakkoth attacked his holy village of Hallasen. It is unknown what other forms he took over the years, as even many Lunarans were surprised to hear he had disguised himself as one of them.

Echemus has his own Crystal Kobold Dragonshield Thralls.

History

Confused

On his last flight back to Quelmar from the moon, he became delirious on the long trip, making him vulnerable and susceptible to ambush.

He was spotted by a cabbage salesman in a small village south of Seglock, who learned from Echemus (and passed on to the Dragon hunters known as The Protectors of the People) that Echemus was searching for a Sapphire Dragon, namely Bleucorundum. Calling her "a blue coward" he stumbled deliriously thorugh the isonhound wilds, going back and forth from Dragon shape to Moon Priest shape.

He was hoping that Bleu could take him to The One That Waits, a creature he forsaw would be arriving one day soon. Along the way he mistook a blue dragon named Azuspear for a sapphire dragon, and in the ensuing battle killed the poor beast.

Captured

In his stumbling and vulnerable state, he was collected by cultists, which made him more corrupted and crazy after being experimented on by cultists of The One That Waits (Specifically the faction calling themselves the Cult of Att-Annalo). They hooked him up to strange devices they found left by the Relith people in Relith Tower, and hoped to funnel his celestial energies into themselves. This drove an already stumbling and delirious dragon into a state of absolute lunacy.

Unfortunately their experiements took down the entire tower itself, and Echemus escaped. While still mentally unwell, he fought against Lindwurms and heroes alike, but was eventually soothed and returned to the Lunarans, who sang him to sleep with lullabys and stories (including the absolutely most wild story you'd ever hear from Elric, with assistance from Pot'tu)

After being drained and worked on, he's learned a bit more of the One That Waits and his goals, as well as the nebulous nature of his power.

Cured

Echemus was cured in Seglock as part of the hectic events that ocurred there during The Umbral Flood. Once cured, he was able to fight back and help slay Kennandra the Dread Flame.

Reunited

In 826 PR, Echemus once again took his polymorphed form as a priest and traveled across Umbralhound with heroes such as Nockdus and Dur'kalak and Adira to Rana Ndore where he was to wait for the arrival of his father, as prophesized so long ago.

However, Echemus was instead met with Flame, an undead shadow dragon that had been taken control of by The One That Waits. Fighting light against dark, good against evil, life against death, Echemus was able to hold Flame off for a while, but began to realize he was not going to win the fight.

However, at the last moment, Eros himself finally arrived, having been freed from his prison in The Moon Court. Eros and Echemus combined were more than enough power to blast Flame away (who dispersed back into the shadows) and began their new mission: To purify Umbralhound of the shadows.

Ascended

Echemus played a large role in The Battle of Five Lights. During the culmination of the battle, and during the resurrection of Sardior, Echemus took a stand and inherited his father's throne, deciding to become the new Crystal Thane of Sardior and sit on the Ruby Court.
