Drake McKenna is the host of the Lesser Abyssal entity known as Havoc. Together they were once a villain working under Havoc's name, but have since joined the Free Defenders B-Team alongside Heelia, Josie, Sparkle, and Fractal. Drake is trying to remove Havoc's name and legacy from New Galik, with little (if any) success.

Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]

Drake is fairly tall and slightly wiry. When Havoc is contained, his hair is jet black and his skin is fairly tanned. If one looks into the emerald eyes for long enough, they may catch a glimpse of Havoc looking back at them. When Havoc is "released", he turns much of Drake's skin red, and his left eye becomes orange and serpent-like, almost like a mask that covers most of his face.

Drake and Havoc usually prefer nice clothes, usually custom made and expensive. To keep up in a world of superpowered beings, his duster jacket is made of powerful microfibers that help absorb physical hits.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Drake is somewhat calm and introverted. Between his mother's death and his father's choice to join the Gemini cult, he feels abandoned and has a hard time connecting to others aside from Havoc.

Havoc is a more violent creature. Fully trained and capable of using every melee and throwing weapon in existence, Havoc enjoys fighting and, more importantly, winning those fights. Brave and usually unwilling to back down, Havoc makes it even harder for Drake to connect.

History[edit | edit source]

Drake had a good life. His mother Ava was a wealthy CEO of a successful technologies company, and his father Kyle was a detective in the NGPD. He wanted for little, his parents made sure at least one of them was at the dinner table every night, and he had friends and confidants. He was a normal kid with a relatively normal life, but that lasted until the second Havoc arrived in New Galik.

During an attack on the city by the villain Hellspawn, the lesser Abyssal entity known as Havoc slipped through a crack in the world. His plan had been to test his might against the most powerful villain in New Galik in order to bring glory to his name, but that changed instantly when he realized the atmosphere was fully toxic to him. He could feel himself dying and had to jump into the first creature he could find: Drake. The moment of connection was hellish for both of them as they fought for control of the body. Drake was hospitalized for almost a month as his body adjusted to a new passenger, until Drake finally managed to quell Havoc: at least for a time.

The attempted possession was only the beginning. When Drake got out of the hospital, he found out his mother Ava had been murdered in her office during the attack by Hellspawn. His father started to distance himself from Drake, joining a cult of the Gemini. His friends began to distance themselves from him, unsure how to deal with Drake's bursts of volatility whenever Havoc managed to take control. Alone and in pain, Drake began to listen to Havoc, lash out, and commit crimes. This went south again as the pair robbed from a huge conglomerate that was a shell company for the Gemini. Drake knew the Gemini's reputation, and even Havoc was nervous when confronted by the Supervillain duo. But instead of taking control or hurting Drake, they took him under their wing, using him as an enforcer in their more obviously shady operations.

This lasted a few years, through the Rutile escape and following years, right up until Drake turned 16 and learned the truth: the Gemini, being unable to convince, coerce, or force his mother into giving them control of her company, had killed her in the hopes of using his father to do it. The only thing that stopped them was the fact that Ava left control of the company to Drake, and until he was of age, to anonymous board members that she knew could not be tracked or controlled. Drake confronted them, believing that they were controlling his dad to even further get to him, but Kyle admitted he had never been under the influence of their powers: he just wanted the money they were paying him. After the outburst, the Gemini attempted to control Drake, but Havoc's presence managed to block their influence enough to allow them to escape.

Drake and Havoc, finally on the same page about what needed to be done, decided to throw themselves at the mercy of the Free Defenders, turning themselves in and telling them everything they could. The Free Defenders placed him under house arrest for a time, but let him go after he assisted B-Team in defeating Colonel Mustard. Now the world has a close eye on Drake, and Drake keeps a tight leash on Havoc, but both do their best to be heroes for the city, while silently waiting for the moment that they can strike back against the Gemini and his traitorous father.
