Kallus Dinn was a slutty little pirate with a gambling habit that bordered on problematic. Captain of the sandship The Gilded Tusk, he and his fellow crew members travelled across the Badlands of early BR Pteris adventuring under the flag of The Desert Falcons.

Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]

Despite what his Human appearance would initially suggest, Kallus was a Tiefling. His tanned skin let him blend right in, and his small vestigial horns could easily be covered by cloth bands or the flamboyant headwear he was often seen donning. His oft dramatically flowy clothing also aided in hiding his tail, which normally only came out to help in cheating whatever tavern gamblers he was up against. The luscious flowing locks and dashing roguish 'stache was a staple of his look.

If you were one of the many many people to have seen him nude, you’d be aware of the numerous tattoos that dot his body. Only two were done professionally: a sandworm coiling itself down the length of his arm, and a map of the stars on his back. The rest were crudely penned by drunken friends, including the dick covering the scar of his stolen kidney.

History[edit | edit source]

Kallus’ swashbuckling adventures began after winning captaincy of The Gilded Tusk from the Orc Tog Bo'Gruum, in an increasingly high stakes game of Pterran Mehen. Tog stayed on as his first mate, bringing with her their Ettin cousins DorkMorkPork and PorkMorkDork and a Dwarf named Rigind; together they were The Desert Falcons. A few years would pass, filled with many fantastical yet absolutely-believable adventures, such as their liberation of the Zolgan Slave Camps where Kallus single-handedly fought his way through 70+ men, or the crew’s discovery of the ancient King Taa’kut’s Cave of Gold.

Unfortunately being such brave valiant heroes doesn’t sit well with everyone, and the dreaded Dunepirate LeChuck was soon on their trail, attempting to foil the Gilded Crew’s adventures. Events escalated to a climactic ship-to-ship battle in the middle of the Pterran badlands, resulting in the destruction of LeChuck’s ship and the death of both Tog and Rigind. Tog’s skull now can be found in the captain's cabin, gilded tusk and all.

Kallus continued his adventures with PorkMorkDork and DorkMorkPork, eventually enlisting the help of the warlock Xelsei and a young Gnome artificer named Namfoodle. In 176BR the crew were hired by the Elf Wasif Al-Jayid to locate and excavate the lost tomb of the ancient ruler Menet-Ka, somewhere out in the deserts of Pteris. The tomb proved to be a hellish trap-filled mess of a job, resulting in the deaths of both Xelsei and DorkMorkPork before they were able to fully explore it. Managing to barely escape with his life alongside Namfoodle and PorkMorkDork, he buried his friends in the sands of the oasis.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Cocksure and arrogant, Kallus sauntered through life with a level of swagger many did not know was achievable. He often revelled in taking bold risks and rarely thought through plans, knowing that Lady Luck could easily give as well as take away on a moment’s notice.

Loving to be the centre of attention, he would often have DorkMorkPork convince tavern-goers of their many dramatic tales of adventure, and took any non-believers as a great personal offence. When not fawning over himself he could probably be found getting somebody else to fawn over him; his promiscuity was well reputed across the realm.

Skills[edit | edit source]

Kallus was an incredibly skilled swordsman, spending a lot of his life dueling with his trusty rapier. He used mobility and the environment to keep his advisories on their toes, running and flipping around the battlefield whenever the dramatics of the encounter demanded it most.

Throughout his life he had (mostly) always been an accomplished gambler, finding home in any tavern with patrons across the realm. On the odd occasion where he was on the losing end, cheating maybe wasn’t totally out of the picture, and worst case scenario he could always slip some coins out their purses as he distracted them with drinks and hospitality. He’d gotten rather good at that.

His silver tongue was widely known to be able to talk itself out of -or into- any sort of sticky situation, depending on the context. Some witnesses even rumoured that his sharp wit could cut his advisories deeper than any knife.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Held Tog's skill and friendship in high regard, and will often talk aloud to her skull when sad or stressed.
  • Often fights left-handed to confuse opponents, but is mostly ambidextrous.
  • Is a "very skilled blower" and is peak himbo.
  • Often lights up a pipe when in overly stressful situations where people demand he thinks.
