Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]
Nokori wears a light green and blue yukata, with a terracotta haori tied back in tasuki fashion. Sloppily over his robes, Nokori dons orange hakama pants that drag against the ground, the ends of which are stained with mud and blood. His umber hair is long and wavy, it spills out from beneath his ragged polka-dot bandana. Hanging from his ears are charms dedicated to Gods he is unfamiliar with, and what does show of his skin is tattered. Beneath his body and facial hair are small scars that litter his form from fights not even he can recall, the skin of which is frigid to the touch. On his back spans a large rune from shoulder to shoulder and down along his spine, he has no memory of getting it or what it means. After having many magic users examine it, he still has come up with no answer, but from time to time it glows. However, Nokori's most striking feature are his false wooden arms. His prosthetics are limp, rigid, and hard to move from where they connect to his biceps, although, this is by design as hidden sheathed beneath his wooden arms are two twin blades which he fights with.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Nokori can only be described as cold, not only physically but in personality too. He is motivated, at first, only by his drive for vengeance. He speaks when spoken to or only when he has something of value to say, unless you manage to push past his barriers. Behind his intimidating looks and actions, Nokori is quiet and reserved, he enjoys the presence of others even if he says he doesn't and knows a thing or two about gardening- ask him about how to prune your bushes and you'll likely catch him off guard! For those closest to him he feels it's his duty to protect them and often throws himself in harms way, he claims it's because he hates being indebted to others. That being said, he is rather dense. Despite being fairly good looking, he has no charm and often upsets those who are trying to compliment him by not understanding their intentions.
History[edit | edit source]
After waking up with apparent amnesia one day, Nokori vows to get revenge upon whoever, quote, "took his memory away", and replaced his real arms with wooden ones. Day in and out, Nokori wonders who he was before he woke, as he is clueless about even what his real name was. He fights with twin blades sheathed beneath his prosthesis and is dead set on achieving his goals. However, as things progress, Nokori will learn that his vengeance is futile.

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]
- Fighting Style: Two Weapon Fighting
- Second Wind
- Action Surge
- Martial Archetype: Samurai
- Fighting Spirit: "Starting at 3rd level, your intensity in battle can shield you and help you strike true. As a bonus action on your turn, you can give yourself advantage on all weapon attack rolls until the end of the current turn. When you do so, you also gain 5 temporary hit points. You can use this feature three times. You regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest."
Attacks and Weapons [edit | edit source]
- Right arm: Shortsword (1d6 piercing)
- Left arm (off-hand): Shortsword (1d6 piercing)
- Tanto: Dagger (1d4 piercing, thrown (range 20/60))
- Prosthetics: Left and right arms, will need to be picked up after battle since they're literally his wooden arms that cover his swords. He tends to fling them off right as goes off into battle with no intent to hit someone, but i suppose he can attempt to try to hit someone. (1d4 bludgeoning should be disadvantaged honestly, thrown (range 10ft))
Physical Advantages and Disadvantages (Homebrew)[edit | edit source]
- Sword arms: Since Nokori's swords are attached to his body beneath his false arms, I plan on him having a disadvantage when wielding two-handed weapons because wooden prosthetics don't exactly work like actual arms. His fingers need to be manually manipulated into different positions to grip things or gesture.
- If possible, he should be able to spend money to "upgrade" or enchant his swords, either this or have him find/buy treasure that he can switch out on his arms.
- Prosthesis: Since Nokori has false arms, if they are hidden beneath his sleeves he can roll for deception to block an attack aimed at him or someone within his wingspan to take a hit since he physically won't get injured. *Upgraded to use this ability with monthly downtime (5/31/2024)
- If the opponent lands a hit above his AC, each wooden arm has 8 "hp" before it breaks. Nokori can keep the pieces of his broken arm and pay to have it repaired at a shop or if a party member has the proficiency, can attempt to fix it during a long rest.
- If Nokori walks around in public with his sword arm exposed, the appropriate responses should ensue.
