Senshi no Rakuen (translated to Warrior's Paradise) was a provincial town hidden in the mountains of the Troverth Kingdom. It is most notable for its unique form of handling conflict, which is one part 'trial-by-combat' and one part traditional court case.

About[edit | edit source]

Being separated from the larger realm thanks to being in a mountain-bound valley, citizens of Senshi no Rakuen enjoy a very traditional sense of living, which included a welcoming atmosphere free from the greater Troverthian bigotry.

The town had a lone temple in the middle of it dedicated to the (fictional) goddess Mishakal.

Litigation[edit | edit source]

Senshi no Rakuen was a town with several Litigators who were trained public defenders. Following ancient rites of Troverth dating back to before the Holy War, when any issue arose in town, whether it is over settling a financial debt, losing a bet, or more serious matters of law, the issue can be legally settled by trial-by-combat.

The litigation system had one glaring flaw, however. It was considered dishonorable to decline a litigation from a member of society who had more honor than you. This led to the most honorable people in town also being able to name their prices and dominate the locals, as no one could say "No" to them without inviting a litigation that they must accept or face dishonor for.

However, both parties had the ability to hire public litigators who fought on their behalf. This led to the public defenders being considered the true heroes of the town. Though the litigators would often only accept the position if they truly believed in their client, leading to Litigators being one part judge, one part jury, and (unfortunately) one part executioner.

History[edit | edit source]

In the year 10 PR, the town was victim to an attack by Shinardi who were tracking the faun Orris. Orris, in turn, was passing through town when he stayed to investigate a previous attack on the town temple by a Demon known as a Bar-l'gura.
