The Quelmar Wiki
(Redirected from Skulk)

Skulks are lost souls, cursed to wander forever in The Shadowfell. Though they typically pass by unnoticed by most, they will appear grey and devoid of most humanoid features if seen. Skulks retain no information or memory of their former life and have been called "mindless", "useless", and sometimes "the walking dead". However, many skulks have escaped the Shadowfell and sought purpose on other planes of existence.

About[edit | edit source]

They are completely hairless and wear little or no clothing. It is difficult to determine, at first glance, whether a skulk is male or female. Their skin is usually dull gray, but an individual can change its color on a whim, from a subdued brown to a lurid red or yellow. Skulks are capable of assuming any "natural" human flesh tone to better blend in. They have pupilless blue eyes, regardless of their skin coloration.

Racial Abilities[edit | edit source]

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2

Age. Skulks do not age as normal creatures do when in the Shadowfell. However, a skulk in the material plane may decide to take up a silent imitation of another humanoid's life in an attempt to feel purpose. In such cases, Skulks are considered to be of similar age to the creature that have impersonated.

Alignment. Skulks tend towards chaos, as their very existence disrupts what people consider "natural". However, skulks do not have any strong tendency towards good or evil.

Size. Skulks stand between 5 and 6 feet tall. Your size is medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Fallible Invisibility. At all times, you are invisible to the naked eye. There are three limits to the your invisibility that mark it as a uniquely Skulk power.

  • The first limit is that you appear in all reflections, whether it is a body of water, a fine mirror, or the gleam of a window in daylight.
  • You appear, although translucent, when lit solely by the light of a candle or similar small flame. This includes sconces, torches, and candelabras, but not larger fires such as forges or fireplaces.
  • Creatures who have not reached maturity, such as human children, are not effected by your invisibility.

Languages. You understand common but lack the ability to speak.
