'''The Balabar River''' (also known as the '''Balavar''' or even '''Valavar''') is the largest river spanning the width of [[Osugbo]], across the southern side. 

== History ==
It is believed that the river was originally known as the Valavar river in the early [[BR]] era, perhaps named by the local citizenry, which was primarily [[Beastfolk (Player Race)|Beastfolk]] of various kinds, including [[Kitsune]] and [[Choeru]]. 

At some point before or during [[The Holy War]], the city of [[Balabag]] was established on the river's north bank, which led to decades of confounding of the name '''Balabag''' and the river '''Valavar''', that a gradual vowel shift occurred, and as Balabag grew even larger, reaching it's maximum size under the [[Troverth Dynasty]] during [[Realm War I]], the river itself became more well known as '''Balabar,''' with many believing it was named FOR the human-created city, despite it existing for centuries under a different name given by local beastfolk. 

The Balabar River was the site of the [[Slaughter of the Rubies]] during [[The Cavalry Rush]].
