Peacock is a freelancer mercenary from the Long Rim, originally hailing from the Karrakin Trade Baronies, and currently on contract with Cpt. Simon Dominguez on board the Silver Lining. They are a PC in the Lancer campaign In The Shadows of a Willow.

History (work in progress)

Raison doesn't talk much about their early life prior to joining the Amber Lions Free Company, though it is unclear if that is due to their private nature or because they genuinely do not remember much before their mercenary service. Regardless, they demonstrated significant skill, ruthless tenacity, and just enough recklessness that they were able to be selected for mech pilot training in relatively short order. During their first outing as a fully trained mech pilot they were able to save most of their squad by providing a distraction for enemy mechs and, against all odds, somehow survived long enough for the cavalry to arrive. This not only impressed their superiors, but also drew the eye of something else, something more eldritch.

Ageless And Unknowable (ANU)

Ageless and Unkowable (ANU for short) is a mech from the HORUS pattern-group COUATL. Coated in a shimmering multi-layer polymer, this mech is constantly projecting a hypnotic memetic pattern across its surface to draw the eye of combatants. Once the target is under their thrall, it is designed to unleash wild bursts of energy and plasma to tear the target down. This mech (and the license to print it) was obtained during a fateful mission of which PEACOCK is the only known survivor.

• Look At Me - The Couatl cannot become Hidden
• My Plumage Is The Most Beautiful - 1/Round when a hostile character ends their turn within Sensors and line of sight, the Couatl may use its reaction to force them to make a Systems save. On a failure, they cannot draw line of sight to any character other than the Couatl until the end of their next turn. The Couatl always counts as being in their line of sight for the same duration, regardless of obstructions.
• I Am As The Brilliant Sun - You erupt into empyrean pseudo-flame and blinding memetic radiance. Hostile characters within a Burst 2 cannot draw line of sight beyond that area, and if they end their turn in the area they take 2 Heat and must pass a Systems save or become Jammed until the end of their next turn. A character may only be Jammed this way 1/Scene. If a hostile character outside this area ends their turn within your Sensors and line of sight they must pass a Systems save or immediately move up to 3 spaces directly towards you. This aura lasts until the end of the scene, you are destroyed, or you dispel it as a quick action.
