Martin Blackwood's is a shoemaker who once unwittingly took part in one of the many Cephalopponent Games held by the Bleak Academy.
Martin made it to second place, nearly reaching the top of the final challenge, before failing a jump, and falling over 60 feet, crashing on the cavern floor below them.
It is currently unknown if Martin died after the fall, or if their body was claimed and their ceremorphosis completed, turning them into an Illithid.
It is unknown how old Martin is, as during the Cephalopponent Games, he appeared to be in his late 40's, however has recently made an appearance in Seglock, looking no older than someone in his thirties. Martin is of average height and build, and is simply human. He carries a traveling shoe cart with him, where a topaz homunculus, lovingly named Topi, can be seen kicking its feet.
While travelling the realm of Quelmar, Martin had seen an ominous Obelisk, and upon looking upon it, simply decided that his family and friends are likely consumed by shadows. Thankfully after a group of adventurers had faced Towie, and of course, once the Shadows of Isonhound had lifted, Martin had began his life of travel once again.
It has been rumored that Martin had managed to travel to the continent of Pteris, and successfully start a family and a bustling shoe cobbling business in the city of Rwendia, with a husband, Wick Atoll, and their daughter.
Their daughter chose to continue the legacy of Martins' travels to different continents, and is currently part of an adventuring party on the Continent of Amusa.
