Hosts[edit | edit source]
Hosts are organizations within Katharda Academy made up of like-minded students and faculty. These hosts once had institutions of their own, but due to recent dragon attacks, all have agreed to consolidate their resources at Katharda Academy. Being a member of a host offers several benefits and lifelong membership into one of Quelmar’s most prestigious organizations. The four hosts of Katharda are…
Geodaury—Members of the Geodaury strive to understand the balance of nature and magic on Quelmar. Mastering the natural elements and the value of both growth and decay, are of the utmost importance to the Geodaury.
Vigilin—Divine prophecies seem to leap from the pages of a staggering amount of ancient texts. But what does it mean to truly understand the workings of the holy and unholy. The Vigilin believe that together, their understanding of what lies beyond the material will help guide all mortals into the future…for better or worse.
Psyrhex—Where others turn to things like gods and creations for power and safety, the Psyrhex claim that all one needs can be found by unlocking the secrets of the mind. Through things like performance, illusion, and control magics, one need look no farther than inward to find a solution to all of life’s problems.
Tinkeryore—It would be foolish to think that magic alone could be the answer to everything. The Tinkeryore know that only by studying what has come to pass and then improving on previous designs of…well…everything, can we mortals hope to escape the confines of our simple lives.
Paths[edit | edit source]
At Katharda Academy, there are four paths of study. All first semester students are restricted to general studies. The other three paths are Path of the Infinite, Path of the Material, and Path of the Mind.
Each path’s studies are located in its area of the academy. Each path offers six courses of study. These courses may be chosen by any student, though students that are members of a host affiliated with a course’s path will have access to additional resources during their time at Katharda.
